Tasty tempura and most combos come with shrimp tempura.
The fish had a strong fishy smell, and the squid tempura tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in water. I think the Tokyo head office needs to come and inspect this branch.

The big bowl is filled with half air. It is simply a scam.

Order the #1 Premium Tendon and the food is horribly disgusting. All the deep fried protein they served is bland, dry, greasy, no flavor, lack of freshness EVERYTHING and it is that bad. It felt like it's a ripped-off too because the menu shows that their portion is generously large but ended up with small amount. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!
Ordered Oyster tendon. Great value for $. Tested just like the tendon in Tokyo. It was even better for me if rice was steamed little softer and moistened. Sauce was very good also they asked if I wanted served in Japan or on the side. I enjoyed traditionally. People who want crispy tempura should order tempura on the dish not tendon style on rice bowl.also know that Tendon sauce is usually different, sweeter than tempura dipping sauce. Overall great experience. Thank you.

I had sukiyaki and tendo at Kaneko and it was a very disappointing experience. The fish was not fresh, and the fried items were greasy with a strong taste of old oil. The sukiyaki came with only six thin slices of low-quality beef, and the raw egg provided did not look like the kind typically used in Japanese cuisine for safe raw consumption. Overall, the food quality was poor, the portions were small, and it was absolutely not worth the price. I would not recommend this place.

First and last time. Got a takeaway and so I didn’t expect the tempura to be perfectly crispy, but it was tasteless. Overpriced for what it is. Also, they’ve got a lot of staff standing around, but the food takes a while to come out… not sure why.
Pass on this.

Price is slightly higher for food court. I would gladly pay 15-20 dollars for a dish except the tempura is not up to par.
Very good

The food at Kaneko Hannosuke was okay, but the portion size didn't match the high price. The bowl looks deep at first glance, but the bottom half is deceiving, with the rice spread out thinly to make it seem like more. It felt like there was more focus on presentation than value. Overall, it was a decent meal, but not quite worth the price for what you actually get.

Over priced tempura. The sauce is not even tempura sauce, just soy sauce. The big piece of eel tempura was greasy.

After visiting multiple tendon locations in Vancouver, I like this place a lot more than tendon kohaku. The sauce is super delicious, they have higher quality ingredients for the tempura with better composition. Their mushroom is maitake which is absolutely delicious, better than shitake that Kohaku offers, and their seafood tempura is really tender and yummy which is not available in Kohaku. Their white fish is super fresh with no smell and their eel is also very fresh with no smell. ( I didn't like the eel from Kohaku)
I understand why others get disappointed by the plate but it really is intended to make it easier and fresher to eat tendon in a food court setting. I appreciate that they separate out the tempura and rice and gives extra bowl to eat easily without making tempura going too soggy.
I also highly recommend other dishes like their milk tea (which is really refreshing and nice flavor without being too sweet) and also their udon (it was great noodle and yummy soup).
Overall highly recommended.
