Very warm and friendly vibe. The food was very delicious and authentic. It had this element to it that I felt like I was eating at a friend's house while still being accommodating to all. Parking can be a pain but you will forget about when you leave happy and full from a great meal.

Absolutely loved this place! The food tastes just like home — full of authentic Filipino flavor and cooked with so much love. Every dish reminds me of traditional family gatherings back in the Philippines. The staff are super friendly, the portions are generous, and the prices are great. If you’re craving real Filipino comfort food, this is the spot to visit. Highly recommended! 🇵🇭✨

Very disappointed, ordered takeout. Food was way overcooked. Chicken was burned to black, not able to eat; pork and fish were hard. Not recommended.
Let’s make it simple.
If a restaurant requires drivers to show or use a thermal bag, it should be clearly written in the delivery instructions.
If that information was provided from the beginning, I would have brought the bag inside immediately and none of this would have happened.
What I actually said was a suggestion — to add this note to the instructions so drivers can follow it smoothly next time.
But instead of listening, the staff chose to treat me as if I were arguing or wasting his time, which was extremely rude and disrespectful.
Also, I want to clarify once again: I did use my thermal bag during delivery.
Just because I didn’t put the food inside it in front of him doesn’t mean I didn’t use it on the way.
I walked out of the restaurant within a few seconds, and the entire delivery process was done properly with the bag.
Please understand the difference between lack of communication and lack of professionalism — in this case, it wasn’t the driver’s problem.

The first thing I want to point out is that your reply is a threat to a delivery driver — saying “I’ll report you to Uber” is completely unprofessional and unnecessary.
Second, I did have my thermal bag that day. It was in my car. When he asked for it, I went back to my car and brought it inside.
Before that, I only mentioned that if a restaurant requires drivers to show a thermal bag, this should be clearly stated in the delivery instructions, so the pickup process can go smoothly for everyone.
However, his attitude was very rude — he turned his back to me and refused to communicate properly the entire time.
Lastly, I did use my thermal bag during delivery.
How I keep the food warm on the road is my responsibility, not his.
As long as the customer receives the food in good condition, the restaurant has no reason to interfere or make false accusations.
Respect works both ways. Please treat delivery drivers with the same professionalism that you expect from us.

I’m a delivery driver, and the staff’s attitude here is really disappointing. They treat drivers with no respect and seem unwilling to communicate politely.
When a restaurant can’t even show basic courtesy, it’s hard to feel confident about the food or the overall experience. Hopefully, they can improve their attitude toward others.
Friendly service and my kids and I loved this big gigantic fried squid
My wife and I each had silog (tapsilog and lechon) for dinner and everything was perfect. Nice ambiance and the server Ace was very polite and friendly. There drink menu looks amazing, will try some next time def recommend..

We didn’t have a very good experience here as our first time. Despite us being the only two in the restaurant, it took 10 mins for our order to be taken, and when we made the order, the server was really really quiet, as in we couldn’t hear him. While I was making the order, I ensured that I was very clear, pointing to each of the 3 menu items (in case I made a wrong pronunciation), and the server nodded and responded ok to each item, also confirmed reading our order back for us, which sounded right, from what we were able to hear.
The shrimp balls came first (very small not much flavour other than the sauce), then my boyfriends meal (which he later stated wasn’t that great compared to other kare kare he has had before “5/10” he said), and then nothing. My order never came to the table. I assumed maybe they have a smaller kitchen, they needed extra time, and I don’t mind waiting. But after my boyfriend finished his food and it still never came, the server came up and asked if we wanted dessert.
We explained I never got my food, and he said that we only ordered the squidball and kare kare, then whispered sorry a couple times and walked to the counter for us to pay. But when I was ordering, he nodded and watched me state and point out my order. Maybe he forgot? Oh well, it happens I guess, I just went to another place after and got food to take home as I was a bit disappointed.

Restaurantji Recommends
Service was excellent, my first time trying Filipino food. The staff there were very honest and made the right recommendations on what to order. Sort of like a small mom & pop shop, very welcoming, would recommend!

My husband and I came to Kimshaker Resto on Labour Day as it was only the Filipino restaurant open during Stat Holiday. We are not from Vancouver but purposely wanted to have lunch in one of the Filipino restaurants visited by @yothatssobomb. We were not disappointed as the staff immediately sat us down when we arrived! We arrived earlier than normal lunch hour (around 11:30-11:45am) and ordered a bangsilog for myself, and I couldn’t remember the name of what my husband ordered, but he enjoyed it so much! We also ordered a side dish of kikiam. For my bangsilog, I got the belly side of bangus which my husband noticed and praised the chef for being thoughtful. We also like that their kikiam was made of ground fish (not meat) which I thought was very authentic. Song choices of ballads that were playing while we dined added to a nice ambience to the atmosphere in the restaurant. We wanted to try their bowl of Halo-Halo but were full from the meal. We were glad that Kimshaker kept its doors open on Labour Day as we truly wanted to try a new restaurant in Greater Vancity while we were on a trip and only there for 6h.

This is a wonderful little corner restaurant. The whole place is clean, airy and unlimke other small-ish venues (less than approximately a dozen tables), you can hardly smell the used cooking oil here. With quick and friendly service, each entree serving is more than enough for 1 meal. As a matter of fact, we ate half of our order the next day. Good value for money!
They have a very interesting menu, especially the burgers, breakfast all-day and dessert/drinks. I will surely come back again and again to try them all! Well done, Kimshaker!

Good food and friendly staff! Tried the Tapsilog here for brunch. Meat is tender and flavor is just right! Not too salty for a Filipino dish.

Great little place for authentic and delicious Filipino food! Portions are good, ingredients are fresh, and each dish has deep flavour. The service is friendly and they answered a lot of our questions.
We got the family bundle which is a lot of food - four dishes, four bowls of rice, and a pitcher of sago at gulamon. After you order you get a complementary plate of fresh fried shrimp chips accompanied by a slightly sweet dip with chopped onions. It was super hot outside so the drink was very refreshing. It's made with tapioca pearls, grass jelly, and syrup (cane sugar I think).
Our main dishes were chicken adobo, crispy kare kare, bihon guisado, and pork belly sinigang (we ordered the shrimp one but they prepared the pork belly one so we decided to try it). Each dish with meat had loads of meat as the portions were not small. Unique flavours for each. Their is also a good amount of vegetables in each dish and they are not boiled or braised to mush.
It's a bit off the beaten path as it's not in a block of restaurants or coffee shops, but still easy to get to well worth the visit. Nice clean and bright indoor dining area and there are a few tables on the outside patio as well. It's a small kitchen so we waited maybe about 10 minutes for our food but it wasn't super busy. I could imagine longer waits when it's in the middle of dinner or lunch rushes.
