Terrible. Small portions. Barely any vegetables. Not worth the cost. Never buying from them again.

Very middle of the road. I had the chicken curry and it was serviceable, but it felt like something I could have made myself at home.

Server was not very helpful but that was better than the guy making the food. I ordered then he stired his drink for a while, had a few sips, watched some of his movie on his phone then gave the most disinterested attempt at preparing my meal. I was given 3 pieces of tofu for my tofu teriyaki, very poor service and food serving. I also said I’m vegetarian and he used the lip that was sitting on top of chicken that was cooking to put on top of mine to heat it. The vegetables were a blend of fresh bean sprouts and obviously frozen green beans and carrots, that weren’t very good.
Update: Just finished eating the overly saucy meal and the 3 pieces of tofu were still cold inside
Update 2: upset stomach later in the evening and next morning, assume from the half cooked chicken lid and tongs being used on my sad meal

Ordered the pork katsu with curry sauce on the side and the takoyaki, and they were both better than what I expected from food-court food! Katsu was crispy, and takoyaki was only $10 for eight and not soggy unlike a lot of other places. Only thing I’d like to change would be that the curry sauce didn’t have a strong curry taste and was instead more salty.

I cannot believe that I still can get a decent portion of ramen for approx $12 and not be hungry afterwards. The price is reasonable, the service is actually good! The cashier girl was nice and helpful, the Chef was fast, the food was tasty. What else would I wish? It's a shame that they don't have a location somewhere in downtown, I would be a regular customer..

It’s average. If u wanna spend $15-16 bucks then try to spend on something else . The rice quality is very low and in chicken teriyaki you will find more mushroom than chicken.

We enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant located at the food court in Metrotown. The food was flavourful, mushrooms were apparent.

**Disappointing Beef Bowl Experience**
I recently visited Koya Japan restaurant with high hopes for their beef bowl, but unfortunately, I left feeling utterly unsatisfied. Firstly, the beef quantity was laughable. It seemed like they had mistakenly dropped a few strips of beef into a sea of rice rather than crafting a balanced dish. For the price I paid, I expected a hearty portion of beef, but what I got was more akin to a garnish.
To make matters worse, the staff's arrogance was palpable. When I politely mentioned my disappointment with the portion size, instead of offering any form of apology or remedy, they brushed off my concerns with an air of superiority. It was as if they couldn't be bothered by my feedback, let alone take any steps to address it.
Overall, the combination of stingy beef portions and the staff's arrogance left a bitter taste in my mouth. I won't be returning to Koya Japan at Metrotown anytime soon, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking a satisfying dining experience.

I ate at this location in metrotown food court. I ordered the Katsu fried chicken. After consuming the food , later that day I was hit with cold chills and had a intense fever. I had no idea how I was suddenly hit with a fever like that I didn't have a cold or any other symptoms. I did my research and found that food poisoning will cause immediate fever to fight the virus or infection. I will be contacting the establishment.
We came here for launch ordered California rolls and beef noodle soup quality is good and very

The food is terrible and so stingy with the toppings. I used to get koya at metrotown all the time but these days they literally put more rice and sprinkle some meat and vegetables. I literally told them to put extra veggies and meat but literally its the same as their usual one. Would never buy again. Horrible!! I literally got it for dinner and omg their food made me so mad.
