This is more of a counter/grab and go location as compared to the Jubilee location. Less offerings but still a bright and cozy storefront. I recommend jubilee location over this one for a more extended coffee break!

a lovely café with great vibes! atmosphere feels bright and cozy. the food and pastries were fresh and delicious. service was friendly and attentive, and overall it felt like a really enjoyable experience. highly recommended this spot if you’re looking for a relaxed brunch ☕️

Edit: I got their roasted beef croissant and it's amazing 10 out of 10 best I've had in Van
Got classic smash burger for lunch and it was so satisfying!! I could tell the beef was fresh however it was definitely very oily and heavy which I felt guilty afterwards lol. They also have a forest smash burger which is lighter will try next time!!

Good iced strawberry matcha, good croissant, would definitely return to try other things. This location does not have a lot of seating, no tables inside, just barstools and counter space. There are a few patio tables.

If you want the quieter version of La Forêt, here it is. Limited parking and seating however very nice to stop in during a walk in the neighbourhood. Also nearby Royal Oak Skytrain Station so would suggest stopping by for a Latte, pastry, or lunch.
It’s not the same as the main store but they do have the loafs and some of the famous desserts. Personally I feel like the food at the main location better and drinks. But it s good that the place is quiet.

🍰 The cream of strawberry slice is non-dairy. So if you don’t like the taste do not choose that.
🥐 I highly recommend the brûlée croissant. It is filled by the creamy, well balanced, and full of vanilla seeds custard (I guess?) !
🍞The salt bun has rich butter flavor and chewy . I love that! The salt flakes on top balance the richness of the butter very well. However, it would be even better if the bottom were crispier.

Sadly, the smore croissant I had today was not close to being fresh!! Quite stale in fact. I let the server know and she apologized but that does not cut it. A lot of money for one bite of a stale croissant.
