L'Artista Italian Restaurant

We had a big party for a family celebration and they served us family style, food was great, there was lots, and the service was outstanding.

Absolutely loved my experience at L’Astria. The wine selection was well-curated and paired perfectly with the meal. The pasta was fresh, rich, and full of authentic Italian flavor — you can tell it’s made with care. And the tiramisu? Easily one of the best I’ve had — light, creamy, and just the right touch of sweetness. Beautiful ambiance and attentive service made the whole evening memorable. Highly recommend for anyone craving a true Italian dining experience.

I’m really enjoying the tradition of old school Italian ambience, food and service. #authentic. The salads (forgot to take photos) were delicious (we order two and was enough to share amongst four of us)

We had the Linguine Ai Gamberoni and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara which were both amazing! The prawns were massive and cooked to perfection. The sauces were amazing and had so much depth in their flavour. Would highly recommend it to anyone who loves authentic Italian pasta!

good food, good service, good atmosphere and decore.

We recently celebrated a family event at L’Artista Italian Restaurant on Hastings, and it was nothing short of incredible! The catering was exceptional, with a menu that left everyone impressed. We started with the fried calamari and caprese salad—both were fresh and flavorful, with the calamari perfectly crispy and the caprese a refreshing beginning to the meal.
For the middle course, the rigatoni was cooked to perfection, al dente just as it should be, and the entrée of chicken Parmigiano was a true highlight, served with beautifully prepared fresh spinach, carrots, and potatoes. Each dish showcased the chef’s skill and attention to detail.
What truly made the evening unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality and service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our family felt welcomed and cared for, creating a warm, homely atmosphere that made the event extra special. If you’re looking for a place that combines incredible Italian cuisine with heartfelt service, L’Artista is the perfect choice. Highly recommend for any occasion!

It was okay, it wasn't bad nor was it good. It was italian food.

Had a relaxing atmosphere though.

We went on a Thursday and it was packed. The food was so good and excellent service. Not our first visit but definitely a great meal! We had the veal, gnocchi, pasta feature, and a steak. All excellent. Amazing service too!

Food did not taste flavourful at all. Cesar’s salad was plain with only lettuce and under seasoned. The portion size on the chicken plate was not enough. Lasagne was saved by the cheese. The desert was the only good part of the meal. The place was quite dark and lacked some lighting. They put a candle on the table which went off mid way during the meal. Not worth it for Italian food.

BEST pesto gnocchi I have ever had!!! Only downfall is it takes a while to get your food. The staff are also amazing!

First time very recently, a good friend brought us there, super friendly people, real Authentic tasty food we love it. It has that old time charm that is not easy to find but we did! If you like Italian food (who doesn't) you will love this gem!!

Very authentic Italian restaurant. Food was amasing

We went there at 5pm when it opened and the restaurant smelled sort of like gasoline or goo-gone for some reason. The appetizer and pastas tasted 7/10, but were very minimalistic for the price. At the tipping screen, the waitress stared straight at my hand and I felt a little pressured even though she didn’t do much during the meal. I won’t go here again, as it just feels like very, very simple dishes for too much money. I don’t see negative reviews around here and that is why I feel the need to tell my experience.

We loved it! We’ve been looking for an authentic Italian restaurant since visiting Italy (and New York). Everything was incredible. The best Caesar Salad ever too! Vancouver’s Gem! 5 stars!!!
