Lougheed Village Bar & Grill

Top tier semi hidden bar! It's a bit of a time capsule to an older-Van style, unpretentious sports-bar roadhouse type place. The location is unusual, sort of at the basement of an apartment complex on a road you've never been to before, situated on an urban residential cul-de-sac, giving the bar a sheen of surreality.

With many pool tables, lots of tables, two big screens for 2 different games to watch, and good prices for beer, I'd be here all the time if it was local to me.

Special mention for the food: had the chef's special lasanga last night and it was so good ordered a second dinner to try!

Judging from the crowd, people of all ages who know good spots know this place. Check it out!

I worked in the Lougheed Village complex years ago and am still enjoying the pub and the friends I made who lived in the complex and nearby. Meanwhile our group has lessened as we have long-grown into seniors and still the pub staff treats us like gold! We love the welcoming vibe of the place, the waitresses are 100% always friendly and attentive, and the good food and all of the staff there contribute to the overall vibe of this safe and well run pub. Koodo's to the management! It's a hidden gem and you can find it in the basement along with the 6 hours free parking in the covered lot. ps I recommend the Nachos and the daily specials:-)

Had a horrific experience with the staff last Friday.
From my point of view, and having been a 40 year patron, I wouldn’t ever go to this pub again after this experience.
I own a Business, of which most Fridays we show up at the end of the workday and we talk about the week we have some beers we shoot some pool. All fine. A couple of my staff joined me- just so happens they are black.
We had been there for over 15 minutes and nobody served us. Very odd, typically we get smiles and immediate service but today for some reason, it was different.
After asking for some service the waitress approached and asked my two coworkers for their ID. One gave them the idea immediately the other one was joking and said why are you asking for my ID? (The gentleman is 43 years old).
To which, I made light of it and turned it into a joke calling him, “baby face“, because he does look much younger than his age. He did clip up and say, “is it because I’m black“?
The waitress after five minutes went back to the bar and, Dane, The head waiter, approached the men and asked them to leave. I approached Dane and told him that only one of them made the comment and the other one was compliant with no issues. He said, “they are together“. To which I said, “ no, they are with me”, of which Dane’s response was, “well then you can leave with them and you are permanently kicked out out of the place”.
I mentioned the fact that he was kicking the second man out that that was racist.
He said they could do whatever they wanted.

It smelled of racism.
Damned, if only there were cops there!

Although I understood removing the perpetrator (who was making a joke) I was disgusted with their racism.

Disappointing experience. Jess, the new server, made us uncomfortable: Talking about us to managers, messing up our order & the bill, then delaying our payment. When we tried to resolve it, the owners/managers (Mac, and the other guy) responded with hostility and even threats, instead of making it right. There are some great staff here, but the owners’/managers’ attitude means I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

As a loyal customer of this bar for the past several years, it’s disappointing to see how the experience and culture have changed recently.
The new server Jess gave off a two-sided attitude, while she could be friendly, it became clear she was also quick to talk behind our backs to the managers. Se also brought us something we did not order, forgot to split the bill properly, and did not ring in the specials on the bill. And took too long to bring us the machine. This created an inconsistent and uncomfortable atmosphere, especially for longstanding regulars. When we went to the bar to pay at the bar, the owners/managers were rude and dismissive and did not address the server’s faults instead said ”you guys are done here” with a threatening gesture.

The managers/owners, specifically Mac and her associate, have been extremely rude even to long-time customers. They do not how to treat customers, new or regular. Instead of listening or showing appreciation for regular patrons, they not only dismissed concerns but also yelled at us and threatened to ban us without providing proper context. The approach to customer service here is fundamentally flawed; it’s not about disagreement over a topic, but about the completely unacceptable way they speak to customers who have supported the establishment for years.

There are many awesome people who work at this bar, and their hard work is noticeable. All the regulars know who they are. However, any positive experiences are overshadowed by the consistently disrespectful behavior of the owners/managers.

2 visits in a row my partner and I were completely forgotten about (admitted by the waitress the first time) Took 2 hours to get our food, meanwhile the table beside us had 2 groups come, eat, pay and leave before we got served at all. Very awful feeling to have it happened twice in a row.

Classic old pub. Pool, darts, pinball, and that rolling game. Sports are on the big screens. When you park you'll think you can't possibly be in the right place but go down few stairs and into the unassuming entrance and it opens to a huge room. Service was great and it's easy on the budget.

Great atmosphere, nice prices, lovely pool tables. I really liked the Yellow Dog Hazy Pale Ale. Nice place to watch a game.

This place is under ground in a walkway under a high rise building. If you don’t know where you’re going you’ll miss it. Decent atmosphere, decent food, it has 4 pool tables, all good. Nice open atmosphere you don’t feel claustrophobic. The service on the other hand was lacking. Our server wasn’t very friendly, no smile no nothing. Might as well been talking to a statue. We ordered a burger with fries, and a fish and chips with fries and wings. Was good. I really liked the fries. We also had one pint of beer and two cokes with ice. All came to about $75 plus I left a $10 tip so $85. Like I say, the hospitality-friendliness wasn’t good. Maybe our waitress was having an off night. But that’s not our fault. It Felt like our business wasn’t appreciated.

Would I go again? - Yes because I like the atmosphere. I wont be leaving a tip.

Cheap beers and free pool before 6.

Food was great and for a good price. Service was quick and courteous.

During my stay there was a trivia night going whis was fun. The bar is an odd one to find. From the entrance maps takes you to, you have to walk a winding hall to the other end. The good thing is that the music is loud enough (not too loud) that you know when you are close to the entrance.

If you want a creepy fun adventure to find a hidden gem divey sports bar this is the place! You have to walk through the most liminal space I’ve ever seen this side of a screen but it’s well worth it. The bar has 4 pool tables, shuffleboard, arcade games and tons of screens for sports. The service was really quick and friendly and the food was FANTASTIC literally the most creative and tasty burgers I’ve had at this price point. Beer was fab. 10/10 no notes
