Mintara on Burnaby Mountain

We hosted our wedding at Mintara on Burnaby mountain in September and have nothing but rave reviews! If you are thinking of hosting your wedding here - do it!

Carissa and the rest of the Mintara team were so helpful, caring and truly went out of their way to make sure us and our guests had the best day. Throughout the planning process, Carissa was so responsive in answering any questions we had, but also making recommendations to ensure our day was smooth. Also the food was delicious - and we received so many compliments from our guests! 10/10 wedding venue :)

An incredible location to film if you have a good cleaning budget for afterwards. The views make the experience worth it.

Great food, lovely staff and amazing view!

Mintara is a hidden gem for an intimate wedding venue. The coordinator, Carissa, was so lovely to work with. She was very responsive to emails and did her best to accommodate our requests. We made multiple visits to the venue and Carissa was always there and ready to answer any questions. The staff were also great and attentive.

The restaurant is modern and beautiful decorated but the gorgeous views on Burnaby Mountain are the highlight. The rose garden was beautiful with the roses blooming in August for our ceremony and the bonus of having the reception venue close by made the day easy for our guests without having to travel elsewhere. Our guests raved about the buffet food and signature cocktails (favourites were the carving station, chicken marsala, and Tokyo fizz cocktail).

Highly recommend Mintara for future couples as a beautiful wedding venue!

My daughter and son-in-law had a memorable wedding 2 weeks ago and I'm still in awe as how the event transpired. Carissa was especially accessible and was helpful to my requests months prior and during the wedding. The food was great and my only regret is that I didn't finish my meal and never got to taste the amazing selection at the dessert bar with all the excitement of the day.

This wedding venue is the full package and I have nothing but praise for the team, venue, and food. I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend this to anyone looking for a wedding venue. I had at least some complaints about the other venues I considered, but I don't have any for this one.

Carissa and Kevin were great to work with. They were responsive, helpful, understanding, and friendly yet professional. I did my own wedding planning and coordination on the day of, and they made the coordination a breeze. Their team executed everything in a timely, efficient, and professional manner that went above and beyond our expectations. Multiple wedding guests told us how impressed they were with the staff's speed and professionalism. You can tell that their team is experienced and extremely well-managed.

The venue itself is simple, modern, and spacious. The views in this entire area are incredible. The view from inside the restaurant is stunning, because it's physically elevated so you get a panoramic view that makes you forget you're in a public park. Guests can sit indoors in the AC or out on the private patio to enjoy the view. The rose garden next to the venue is an incredibly convenient and beautiful location for the ceremony, and the surrounding park has endless photo spots so there's no need to travel for photos. Everything was so beautiful that we barely needed any additional decor.

The food was actually delicious. I don't mean delicious for a wedding venue, but actually delicious for restaurant standards. Fresh, generous portions, with balanced and sophisticated flavours. Every single one of our guests told us they loved the food.

We had our wedding at Mintara in August 2024. Carissa was so easy to work with leading up to the wedding day. She was quick to respond to any questions and was really clear in her communication and responses. It made planning easier to have all the food/drinks provided by the venue. The venue itself is beautiful and didn't need much extra decor. The rose garden for the ceremony was stunning in August - the only downside is that it is in a public park. The garden itself was closed off, but there were many other people/some noise around the outside. The venue staff on the day of were very easy to work with and blended into the background (in a good way). Little details were taken care of to make our day as seamless and easy as possible! The staff made sure we got a special plate of our appetizers (we especially liked the salmon ones) and that we got served our dinner first. They did a great job addressing various allergies/dietary restrictions for our guests. Sunset was amazing for photos for both us and our guests. Would highly recommend!

Food an service were excellent.
Location and view are superb.
Couple of notes as we were with a physically disabled guest.
1. The entrance door automatic opener did not work.
2. The disabled bathroom lock did not work.
3. The disabled bathroom door should have an accessible auto door opener.
Wonder if the City of Burnaby cares about physical handicapped guests?

I had the pleasure to DJ a few weddings at this wonderfully renovated venue. The ceremony space in the back garden is amazing. The staff/servers were all super friendly and helpful. Food was great as well. I would definitely recommend getting married here. You can’t beat this view and the dance floor is nice and close to the bar!

Service was outstanding. Lobster bisque missed the mark, other food was great. Dessert tarte was amazing. View is hard to beat.

I was looking forward to eating here. The location is lovely, the staff really friendly and the interior is well laid out and very comfortable. There is a an opportunity to sit outside as well. I found the lunch menu a bit disappointing. I ate the vegan bowl and found that the menu did not really cater for diabetics, vegetarians and those who may have dietary restrictions. I do hope the management will make the menu more inclusive and have a greater variety. My husband chose to eat the lobster flat bread. It was ok however, the amount of lobster was really miniscule. This place has great potential and I hope the management does exploit this opportunity to really shine

We had an awesome experience with Mintara for our July wedding this year. Carissa was always quick to respond to any questions we had as we planned, was very flexible, and available without being pushy. Actually it was our first interaction with her as well as the beauty of the venue that made this venue our first choice and we were very happy to be able get a Friday date with them! We had a couple of last minute meal changes/seating changes and Carissa was very flexible to adapt this for us.
On the day, everything was set up for us so beautifully, the garden was full of roses and spectacularly beautiful and it felt like the staff were there without noticing they were there. During the reception, again, they were available, but in the background, kind and friendly. Our guests kept telling us how delicious the food was and how amazing the views and venue were - we had the most beautiful sunset! We would HIGHLY recommend Mintara for hosting your wedding. With the rose garden and the restaurant, we had so little to do to set it up and Carissa was fabulous to work with! Thank you Mintara!

Celebrated a family event recently. Awesome staff accompanied by perfect weather and delicious food. We'll be back!

I don't write alot of reviews, but this place really went above and beyond for my family this past Wednesday and deserves the 5 stars. It was a pretty special day with multiple big celebrations. Over 14 people got their dinners at the same time (not easy!), every drink order correct, every 'can i get a side of' request done quickly and they made special menu accommodations for my pregnant cousin and a vegetarian in our party. Yes the food was fabulous, yes the view is amazing, but the service team really was special. Thank you Mintara, wishing you all the absolute best.
