Dinner was about to be served at my daughter’s wedding reception when we noticed this black bear outside helping himself to this families picnic dinner. He is now referred to as the wedding crasher

We tried their $45 three-course set. The appetizer and dessert couldn’t be chosen, but the flavors were okay. For the mains, my steak was too salty, and my partner’s salmon was overcooked, so overall the taste was just average. What made the meal special, though, was spotting a bear outside, which turned it into a more memorable experience.

Our wedding at Mintara was everything we hoped for and more. We chose to have a smaller celebration which made the day feel intimate, but the venue elevated it into something so elegant. The views were stunning, the atmosphere was relaxed yet special, and the plated dinner was an absolute highlight. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and delicious it was, and it truly gave the evening such a timeless and elevated feel.

What made the experience unforgettable wasn’t just the setting, but the people behind it. Carissa was such a blessing to us that day. She wasn’t our coordinator, but you wouldn’t have known it by how much she stepped in to help. She kept the timeline flowing, made sure we were doing okay, and somehow managed to be everywhere at once while still making us feel so cared for. Her calm energy and kindness made such a difference. She didn’t just do her job, she went above and beyond in a way that felt so genuine.

I fell in love with this venue the first time we saw it and I’m so glad I found them! Every year on our anniversary we will be here!!

My wife and I recently had our wedding at Mintara and it was the perfect day! First off, the setting is incredible. We had our ceremony in the rose garden when it was in full bloom, which was perfect. The view of the city, water, and mountains is stunning; our guests are still talking about it. The food was incredible; we had a buffet style dinner and everything was delicious. And the best part was the staff, they helped make the day go so smoothly. Huge shoutout to Carissa and Kevin for throwing a classy party and making it a day we'll never forget. If you're looking for a venue for any type of function, Mintara will come through!

We recently had our wedding here and couldn’t have picked a better venue! Not only was the location beautiful but the staff here are so incredible to work with. We worked mostly with Carissa leading up to the event and with Kevin on the day of. Both were extremely professional, organized, and friendly. On the day of, they welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed for the rest of the evening. They also checked in on us throughout the night during the meals. Carissa and Kevin were such a pleasure to work with and made our big day even more special. We can’t thank you enough!

There are not enough superlatives I can use for this venue and its staff!! I recently had my wedding there, and the entire experience was above and beyond expectations. From my first day a year ago when I sat down with Carissa Quan (their venue event co-ordinator extraordinaire), to the day of my wedding, I was always kept in the loop, questions and concerns were always promptly addressed. Every detail is transparent, laid out fully for my understanding, and there was never a moment where I felt taken for a ride. As for the quality of food, it is top notch, and for what you get, the cost is affordable, in my opinion. And the attention to detail and care to presentation is also something to commend. The staff are professional, but also affable and friendly, putting everyone at ease. The venue itself is elegant, classy and elevated, without being stuffy, and the panoramic views of the the city is unmatched. This venue has all the elements that you could wish for a successful and memorable event. Don't hesitate to book with them, and don't sleep on this place!!

Great food and service. Choose a table next to the windows to enjoy the most from the great view. Preferably to go on a sunny day.

We visited Mintara for our daughters' birthday dinner. We made reservation in advance as it was for a Friday evening. Summer evenings can draw big crowds to burnaby mountain, therefore come early to get parking. We ordered the 3 course dinner priced at $45 each. It was good value; came with a summer salad, choice of entree, and a dessert. Steak, salmon, and ribs were all reasonably good. Dessert was some sort of a chocolate cake and it was excellent. Tuccy was our server. She was very helpful in making order choices. Overall it was a good dinner experience. Location is beautiful. There is not a lot of variety / choices in the menu, so I do suggest checking it online before you make a reservation.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that combines breathtaking views, refined food, and warm hospitality, Mintara on Burnaby Mountain delivers in every way.

The setting is spectacular—nestled among rose gardens and walking paths, with panoramic views stretching across Vancouver and beyond. Even indoors, the floor-to-ceiling windows ensure you’re never far from that scenic skyline. The space feels modern, airy, and upscale without being pretentious—perfect for a special occasion or peaceful evening out.

Our experience started with a lovely waiter who was accommodating from the start, even setting a table for us outside before we decided to move indoors. His attentiveness continued throughout the night, and the moment that truly stood out was when he brought us complimentary bubbly—he had a hunch we were celebrating, and he was right: it was my 26th birthday. That thoughtful gesture meant a lot.

We chose the prix fixe menu and were impressed from start to finish. The slow-roasted striploin was the highlight—thick, tender slices perfectly cooked and generously portioned, paired with broccolini, mushrooms, and a rich, flavorful jus. The Yorkshire pudding on top added a delightful comfort-food touch.

Dessert was a chef-selected coffee crunch cake, beautifully presented and indulgent without being too heavy. Paired with that celebratory glass of bubbles, it made for a perfect ending.

Every detail—from the view to the plating to the service—felt intentional and elevated. Mintara is the kind of place that turns a dinner into a memory. Highly recommend for birthdays, anniversaries, or any evening you want to feel just a little more special.

Awesome view! Tootsie Server was even better. Food was delicious.

Great view and service with reasonable to good food. The 3 course $45 menu didn't disappointed, except for the yorkshire pudding (not crispy on the outside or warm). If that is the only complaint, it's worth a return trip.

No complaints about the meal or the view, everything was lovely and delicious.

The reason I'm giving three stars is because the prices are exorbitant. The food is good, but not $250 for four people with no alcohol good.

Service was great. The dishes were made with quality ingredients. Great value.

Will come again to enjoy a nice dinner with views.
