Very authentic and clean Japanese restaurant in the high gate area. The staff are very friendly and the sashimi is made to perfection šŸ‘Œ

I had one of the best dining experiences here. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was nicely presented. The A5 wagyu and the scallop crudo were both incredibly tender and super fresh. We also tried a couple of rolls, and they tasted really authentic. Definitely be coming back and bringing friends to try out.

This sushi restaurant is notorious for screwing up take out orders; either missed an order or wrong dishes. The quality is nothing to scream home about either. Would not recommend it…save your dollars and go down a few blocks to Sushi Garden instead.

Recently ordered their BC Combo and Nigiri to go. The Negitoro roll had too much compacted rice compared to the Negitoro. The ratio was like 4 part rice 1 part negitoro. The rice was way too wet and sticky and it appears that they are not using good quality sushi rice. Was very disappointed.

ā€œThis sushi rice’s taste and texture are the closest to what I had in Japan.

I had an amazing experience at this sushi place! The was incredibly fresh, and I was impressed by how generous they were.
I ordered the Awesome Roll, Mango California roll and salmon Oshi. They completely exceeded my expectations—the awesome roll was super creative and actually gave off a little smoky, ā€œvolcanicā€ flavor. It really felt like eating a mini eruption in sushi form, haha.
Highly recommend if you're looking for both quality and originality!

I almost want to gate-keep this place until I die. The BEST sushi in all of the lower mainland served by the nicest people and the most heart-warming of staff. You can’t get this quality anywhere else—you can feel the love from the chefs. IMPECCABLE QUALITY😫🤩🫶

It was the best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever had in burnaby, the quality and quantity were amazing and satisfy. Strongly recommended everybody to try the salmon belly sashimi and also try their nigiris. The owner and the staffs are very nice. Excellent restaurant experience for us!

I've been to this restaurant many times and overall, I do enjoy the food. The quality is consistently great, and the portion sizes are decent for the price - especially considering that many sushi places tend to be on the more expensive side. I often go for the bento lunch boxes, which come with a good variety of items and a bowl of miso soup, making it a satisfying meal.

That said, while the food and general service are solid, I’ve noticed a recurring issue that affects the dining experience. There seems to be an excessive level of commentary from the staff about how much food we order. On multiple occasions, when dining with my mother and ordering our usual bento boxes along with a roll or two to try something new, the server has made remarks like ā€œThat’s a lot of foodā€ or ā€œAre you sure you can eat all that?ā€- always in a joking tone, but still unnecessary and a bit intrusive.

Even today, we were met with the same kind of comment despite ordering what I would consider a perfectly normal amount for two people. While I understand that cultural differences may play a role, these repeated remarks feel more judgmental than friendly and don’t align with what I’d expect from good customer service.

Constructive feedback aside, I do think the food is worth trying—just be prepared for a bit of unsolicited commentary.

Great portions on the bentos. Much more modern interior than I expected. Vegetarian options available 😊

I came in for an all day, bento box. I didn’t think I’d be fall enough, so I ordered some salad, but when it came, it was very nicely prepared came with miso soup and after I was done, I was very full. I didn’t need to add the extra solitude, it’s clean it’s new. The parking is good before three and after six I hope I can come back.

Sub par sushi. Rice was falling apart. Fish didn’t taste fresh.

Would be 5 stars for the amazing BC roll, tuna maki roll and spicy salmon roll, however the miso soup was just a warm temperature.
Speed of service also wasn't very good, although they did apologise for that.
