I went to this restaurant with my husband. Overall, the atmosphere and service were good and satisfying, but the gnocchi we ordered didn’t taste as we expected. It wasn’t chewy at all—just felt like eating tough potatoes. Other than that, I liked the other dishes. Maybe I’ll try different ones next time

Very loud environment with a lot of hard flat surfaces for sound to bounce around. As many other eating establishments, OEB Breakfast is in desperate need of acoustic panels for noise dampening. The loud music combined with the lack of dampening results in everyone talking very loud and the whole atmosphere being hectic and unpleasant.
Parking: The mall map says the restaurant is on P2. It technically is in that the P2 parking floor is open concept on one side and if you walk out through the opening and turn left, you'll find the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: Nice kids menu.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wide walkway along the counter + tables positioned so a person in a wheelchair can sit at the end without obstruction makes this place wheelchair accessible. A person in a wheelchair sat at the table next to ours and had plenty of space.

Hard to find. Parking was a nightmare. Service was slow to bring food, but super fast to clear plates. Server dropped dirty cutlery on me in her rush to clear tables. Left a stain. Food also wasn’t good (coffee was ok, but the Montreal smoked meat benny was overly salty; for context: I’m normally a fan of Montreal smoked meat). Would not recommend.
Parking: The parking lot used Indigo parking which wouldn’t work on their site and wasn’t actually free even though the sign says the first 3 hours are free. You have to download the app which has glitches (wouldn’t let me pay for 2 hours instead of 1 at a time).
Long wait time, no proper online booking system
The take out portions of their poutines are incredibly small - about half of what i would get at the restaurant itself. Quite disappointing considering the price is not cheap.

OEB Breakfast Co is worth the hype! The Tuna Crudo Breakfast Poutine is my favourite dish. It's fun, delicious, and satisfying.
The food isn't heavy while you're eating it, but all that tallow catches up on you 🤭 Enjoy the warm vibes and fantastic food.
OEB is one of my favourite spots for brunch in Burnaby. But do yourself a favour: join the online list to avoid waiting for a table.

The worst restaurant food we have had in a very long time. Waitlist was not working so we waited on the sidewalk to get in. Had to call the server over to take the drink order. Music was very loud, which they kindly turned down, but then turned the volume back up. Food ordering was prompt. Of the 5 meals at our table 3 were cold. One was raw! Manager offered to re make the raw eggs and reheat the cold dishes. I had croque mssr which was tough. Overall a very bad and very expensive $$$$ brunch. Google maps prompts reviewers to note the parking and although it is beyond OEBs control the parking is expensive with poor signage.
Parking: Parking signage is poor! Prepare to pay!!!!

This was a bit of a conflicting review. First time at any OEB and our friend recommended we go! We were quite excited. The food looked absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was lively, clean and lovely. Our server was quite friendly in the beginning. I asked for her opinion between the crepe and the breakfast poutine, and she recommended the crepe.
Now I will take responsibility at this point because I didn’t specify which crepe. But I will also mention, she also didn’t ask. And she didn’t confirm which crepe was ordered.
When the food was brought the crepe brought was a banana fruit crepe. I didn’t realize it until I bit into it. I only took one bite. I normally would have just accepted the mistake but I have a medical condition where I can’t eat too much sugar or I would get nauseous, and the fruit crepe was sweet ++.
I waited for her to check in we were ok with our first bites. When she didn’t, I flagged our server to see if it was possible to get the savory crepe. I did wait quite a bit because by this time my husband and friend was halfway through their meal but I was in a cheerful spirit and did take responsibility to say I didn’t specify which one as I didn’t even know there was a fruit crepe.
Her face was quite upset as she said you ordered the crepe. I said yes I wanted the savory one. She had no idea what I was talking about and had to bring me the menu and I showed her the front of the menu offered the savory crepe. She said you didn’t specify which one.. and I said I didn’t even know there was a sweet one? And you also didn’t ask? She said ok and took my plate away.
The food was delicious and I enjoyed it. When we got the bill my husband without looking paid it on the credit card. It wasn’t until later he noticed they charged the crepe that was taken away.
When he went to talk to her server he saw her chatting happily and giggling and her face changed when he brought up the problem.
The manager was quick to refund the plate without any fuss which is why I still put 5 stars on the atmosphere. But this is not ok. The bill came out to almost $70 plus tips for breakfast. We tipped her the most amount because we thought there wasn’t a problem.
My husband and I have both worked in the industry. If you take away the plate, you don’t charge the plate. My husband was quite upset after because you can say that forgetting to take away the plate from the bill was a mistake, but anyone with experience in the industry know… that was petty move. I know I didn’t specify which crepe which is why I took some responsibility for the mistake but she didn’t ask and just assumed the sweet crepe because she wasn’t even aware of the savoury one. And then if you have any professionalism you would double check the bill to make sure the mistake is fixed. It’s a big deal to take a plate back into the kitchen, it’s not something you just forget. Again, we have both worked in the industry.
For the quality of place this was, unprofessional behaviour is going to ruin experiences, as even though we liked the food it left a bad feeling and memory. I don’t know what she told the manager but this mistake was definitely partially her fault as the server as she didn’t confirm the order and she didn’t check in after the first bites. So to not take responsibility but also add the petty charge to the bill was quite unacceptable. Then to do something like giggling about getting away with it was BEYOND unprofessional. Customers are not stupid, please do not treat people this way.
People that didn’t like service won’t tell you to your face but they just won’t return and spread the word. People that have one horrible experience will have that memory not just for this restaurant and for this brand.
Reading other reviews it appears that service issues is the biggest problem for this restaurant. It appears that the owners do care as they respond to reviews. I d

Went to OEB for the first time. Impressed with the services well as simple food that is freshly made. Very West Coast casual feel to the place.

Definitely a place you want to show up early for - it gets busy! We arrived around 10:15am on a Saturday and had the luck of scoring bar seating right away; a table wait for 2 was around 45 minutes+. The restaurant has a bright, bubbly and buzzy brunch vibe. Great service and quick turnover. The food was fabulous. I could eat the Blue Crab Benedict over and over again. Cocktails were perfect for brunch, their fancy mimosa with peach and elderflower wasn’t too sweet. Just right!

Great choice of dishes. Unfortunately, every time I go there, the food is never served hot. Just warm. Maybe a plate warmer is in order.
Again, food served cold. Sent back poached eggs. Purine was cool, cheese was cold did not melt.
Do not recommend.
