An unexpected surprise eatery in an area popping with industry. Old Farmhouse Kitchen is a unique experience of an eatery mixed with a dairy store. They offer simple dine in and take out, with a good rotating selection of foods. Definitely enjoyable, especially around this area.
I got some wrap with eggs, peppers, and such in it. It was my first time seeing a red wrap, which I later learned is probably sun-dried tomato, cool. It was pretty good too, great after a long walk. I also got a decent chocolate milkshake. Don't expect it to be thick, it's not a thickshake. It seems if you dine in, you get more based on other people's pictures? It was about ~$8 for the milkshake which was kinda crazy for the small takeout cup I got.
They sell a variety of dairy products here as well, such as milk or their allegedly great chocolate milk. And they also offer ice cream and simple baked goods at the eatery part. You can return used milk bottles for a discount on more products it seems, which is nice.

First time in, good vibe , very friendly and welcoming staffs, delicious meatball pasta
I guess it’s a lunch place. The food is probably pretty good. I had thought they served breakfast. It’s not a restaurant it’s a store. It’s chaotic and confusing. A lot of patience is required if you come here. Explaining what coffee is and waiting for the empty coffee and cream to get refilled for example.
Disappointed in general. I thought I was going for breakfast.

Honestly, wow. Great food. Amazing atmosphere. This place is a hidden gem. First time in Vancouver and I’m glad I ended up here for lunch today.
Had the meatloaf special, with the curry chicken soup, and a 500ml chocolate milk. Everything was amazing, 10/10 Will go again.

I come to this place every week for milk and blueberry muffins. The cashiers act as though they are doing you a favor.
Today I brought 3 blueberry muffins and 2 apple strudels. I asked the young lady to please tape the box with the muffins. Needless to say, she didn’t. She forces the box to close by the time I get to my car. I have to fumble to keep the box closed. I got in the car, and it was a struggle to keep it close. I had to come home, put it in something else and take it to the place where I was going.
It doesn’t take much to put a piece of tape to close a box. Not everyone goes straight home.
My husband loves blueberry muffins as they don't raise his sugar.

I wanted to order a beef dip and pay for my groceries and was shocked to find that the order line up for lunch and grocery are separate! The result was the cashier scrambling to grab a pen and paper from the sandwich bar. The process was not smooth.
I have no problem with the staff since they are kind. I am concerned with the ordering process confusing customers and staff. The signage that indicates where to order lunch should be hanging visibly, not hidden from plain sight.
Other than this I had a delicious sandwich and corn chowder!

The staff here are so friendly, caring, patient, and kind! I accidentally left my wallet at home today, which means I couldn't pay by credit card, debit card, or cash. So I set up Apple Pay and it was my first time to use that method to pay. The ladies at the cashier were so nice in walking through the payment process with me. It was not superficial, they genuinely were helpful. I noticed that when the new staff did not know which buttons to press at the cashier, her colleagues were swift to give helpful instructions.
The food here is great as always. I got a yummy chocolate ice cream, mango pudding, rice crispies, and a soda pop.
The environment is very positive and energetic. I can see Avalon is a great company and the staff are being taken care of. What a wonderful place!
