Honest Review

I came here when they had just opened and thought the food was pretty good, so I decided to come back. But today was a huge disappointment. I don’t know if the ownership changed, but the prices are outrageous — a sandwich for $20 in a small café in an industrial area?
I figured if it tasted great, maybe it would be worth it. But the sandwich was packed only in the center to look full, and once you ate a few bites, it was basically just bread. The bread itself was stale, with edges so hard they were almost impossible to chew. On top of that, it was wrapped in paper taped with office tape — yes, actual tape on food. Every bite carried a faint tape smell, and the paper was so heavily taped it was hard to even remove.
I added soup for $4 more, and it came out in a tiny espresso-sized cup. Altogether it cost me $24, and honestly, I left feeling completely ripped off. Definitely not the experience I expected.

Scramble eggs were completely cold when served and very dry, felt like microwaved even... bacon were more like baked rather grilled or fried

Had the roast beef sandwich special of the day. Was ok. Not great. They use processed cheese. Not something I’d go back to try again.

I recently visited this place for breakfast, mainly because I saw that they had lentil soup on the menu — that alone was enough to draw me in. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, is very clean, and feels quite upscale. Plus, there’s no issue with parking, which is always a big plus.

I ordered the lentil soup, a slice of toast, and an Earl Grey tea. While the soup was flavorful and enjoyable overall, there are a few things I believe could be improved. First, serving soup on a plate instead of in a bowl felt odd and impractical. It caused the soup to cool down very quickly, and I ended up drinking it cold. A proper bowl would make a big difference in the experience.

Secondly, the “toast” I ordered was just a plain slice of bread — nothing special — yet it came with an extra charge of $2, which I found quite steep for what was served.

Lastly, the Earl Grey tea was made using Twinings tea bag, which in my opinion is one of the weakest options on the market in terms of flavor. I hope they consider switching to a better brand.

Aside from these points, everything else was wonderful. The staff were friendly, the environment was relaxing, and I can definitely see the potential here if a few small adjustments are made.

We discovered a lovely little café tucked between office buildings in Burnaby. We tried the bulgogi eggs Benedict and the bulgogi sandwich both were delicious. The eggs Benedict came with a side salad and a soup of your choice (I picked the mushroom soup). The food was great, and the place had a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly too. Highly recommend giving it a try! They’re open until 3 PM.
