Underrated gem in north burnaby - port moody area ! The food portion is massive and authentic( review from a Vietnamese) they have a wide range of Vietnamese food to choose from !! The price is super affordable. Highly recommended !

This establishment stands out as one of my preferred dining locations in British Columbia. The service is both friendly and efficient, and the complimentary tea offered is not only abundant but also rich in flavor. During the recent summer heat wave, they thoughtfully provided free iced tea, which, while requiring additional effort on their part, was a delightful and considerate gesture. I have sampled a majority of their menu items, with my top choices being the pork banh mi, the chicken pho (which includes chicken balls, sliced chicken, and quail eggs), and their side dish of quail eggs, resembling a miniature egg soup. The pricing is exceptional; it is the most affordable banh mi I have encountered, and it is equally delicious. One could dine at a high-end Vietnamese restaurant and pay five times more for a comparable quality (a fact I can attest to, as I frequently enjoy fine dining, particularly at Michelin-starred venues). This restaurant has rightfully earned its status as a community staple, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Numerous dishes at Pho 101 Burnaby are prepared from scratch, including their mayonnaise, which stands out as the finest I have ever tasted. I strongly suggest ordering a side of it to enhance your banh mi experience by dipping in it!

I live in the area, came here about 3x pho taste really bad.

One of the 3 times, a chef came out of the bathroom with dry hands adjusting with his pants and belt, no hand washing for sure.

Another time, the chef was smoking in the back with all of the smokes came into the front of the restaurant. I’m allergic to cigs, my throat closes up...

Definitely disgusted with this place

It’s a good little hidden gem that I’m glad I stumbled on. The menu was pretty diverse and offered more than just the standard beef pho. I ordered a Bun bo hue with hot viet coffee. The soup was not too spicy, warm and flavourful. Really hit the spot on a cold morning. But i would’ve loved some basil and cilantro with it. I look forward to trying something different on the menu next time.

Decided to give Pho 101 a try. No wait for a table on a weekday evening. Soups are in the $14.95-$17.50 price range.

- Herbs - no basil was a red flag.
- Bun bo hue ($16.50) - broth was serviceable but unmemorable. Viet ham slices were fine, beef shank slightly dry.
- Pho ga dac biet ($16.95 large) - broth was okay but lacked depth.

Run of the mill Vietnamese food at P101.

Our family ordered the tasting box and wow what a feast! We were so impressed and the portions were amazing and yes we had lots of leftovers. Next time we will the banh mi sandwiches - must order 48hrs in advance and we will absolutely order again for the next fam jam.

I ordered their special “Mothers Day Box” which came with an assortment of food items. The box was a hit with the family. Fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned, salad rolls were fresh and well made, spring rolls were very good, and the crepes were excellent. Desserts (caramel flan) was also a nice touch! Will come back for a regular meal next time.
