It is VERY hard to find a place that doesn’t use MSG including some Michelin mentioned places in the city. Their broth is the best I’ve tested in the city. We had the rib and ox tail pho and the bun bo hue. Amazing! They ran out of ox tail but gave extra rib which was so well seasoned and tender!

The Pho 99 menu is heavy on the meat and deep-fried dishes. Our table had a beef and a chicken dish. There was lots of fat in the meat and both dishes had a heavy, greasy taste. The restaurant was not busy but the service was slow. The owners don’t care much about the presentation of this place, e.g.: upholstery on the seats was cracked and needed replacing, floor mop and bucket left sitting amongst the tables, bins of dirty dishes left in the hallway. And there was this disturbing...

I went for a bowl of pho with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised. The menu offered a delightful variety of options, but I decided to go with the beef pho with rib. The broth was rich and flavorful. The beef was tender and cooked to perfềction.

The portion size was generous. The spring rolls were crisp and delicious, and the Vietnamese iced coffee was a sweet and refreshing treat.

What truly set this pho 99 apart was the attention...
