My experience at renaissance cafe has honestly always been great. However, I bought a drink with several strands of hair which honestly disappointed me to a level that I am never going back. Please do better and the workers should be advised to wear hair nets.

The owners and staff are always so nice and kind! I 100% recommend stopping if you are on campus!

Coffee and pastries are wonderful! I wouldn’t recommend the grilled cheese or grilled paninis, very oily and inedible. Everything else is very good, wonderful owners.

The food here can be a bit hit or miss, but the service is top notch and they make long days on campus so much better. Always a pleasure to be served coffee by the longtime owner who is so nice!

I don't like commuting to Burnaby campus once a week. But my favorite part of going there is Renaissance cafe

Buying food from here makes my day at uni so much more enjoyable

My review is from a really long time ago.
The coffee there tastes not all that great.
But the caffeine level in that coffee was amazing.
First class of my day was calculus.
That coffee got me through it no problem.
I was working faster than the professor could lecture.

Ordered a dip donut for snack and the cashier lady decided to use her BARE hand to grab that donut and then wipe her fingers on her apron before passing me the pos machine that asks for tips… it wasn’t not even that busy and they don’t even have a utensil to grab pastries for customers?? The food was ok but serious question the food safety here…

My heart ABSOLUTELY goes to the owners of Renaissance Cafe. He is an absolute sweetheart and personally gives out each drinks order. Heartwarming story aside, the coffee here is insanely, insanely expensive, and all the food I have had from here has been extremely subpar. Bages are too large, overdeveloped, and flavourless. Worst of all, I have never been charged the price it displays on thier menus, always $0.50 to $1.00 more. This is a great location and great for the university to have a local business. but I cannot find it in myself to spend 2x more on the same drink and snack that I can get at Blenz nearby that actually tastes good.

The Coffee is terrible, not sure why it tastes so bad. I had a sandwich and made me ill. Do not get the egg salad!

the coffee is SO BAD here. i gave it another shot today out of desperation, even though i know it’s been consistently bad in the past, and it certainly lived up to my memories of it. it is the worst latte i’ve ever had in my life. the only saving grace of this place is the owner and some of the staff are super nice. prices are so expensive for the horrible quality of what they are serving. i will be throwing away my full $7 drink because it is FOUL and undrinkable.

Life seemed to be telling me not to buy anything there when my credit card wasn't accepted 3 times. I ended up paying 9$ for a cup of coffee and a plain bagel. T I couldn't believe how bad the coffee tasted—it was way over-roasted.
