Its one of those family run gems that you'll be kicking yourself for not going to sooner! Their samosas, pakoras, cassava fries are THAT good. Desserts were so refreshing - not too sweet. Good quality food. Can't wait to try more dishes because everything that came out of the kitchen looked good. Only downside is the parking.

Delicious food, and great service! Safari Snack House never disappoints. Highly recommended to those looking for East African and Indian fusion food. My personal favourite are the samosas!

We've been loyal patrons of Safari Snack House for years, and for good reason. This small family-owned establishment has weathered the toughest times in the food industry and continues to thrive. If you're seeking a fancy dining experience, this may not be the spot for you. However, if you crave excellent, consistently delicious home-style African/Indian cuisine, then look no further. Our usual routine involves placing a pickup order, and we appreciate that the owner posts daily specials, allowing us to plan our order in advance. Despite being a busy spot, we always feel warmly welcomed as valued customers. Understandably, there are times when the owner is busy and may not have as much time to chat, but that's completely understandable—we're often in a rush ourselves. It's no surprise that hundreds of people flock to Safari Snack House for their basic meals and weekend treats. It's a testament to the quality and authenticity of the food served here.

While in Canada, I wanted to try authentic East African food to compare against the states. I have the mindset that the restaurant is owned by Kenyans or Somolians(how it is in the states) but it is owned by Indians who say they are from East Africa. Looking around, it seems to be normal in Vancouver while in the states that would be seen as culture appropriation. Since I wanted to support a black owned restaurant, I left and went to Taste of Africa.

Wow! The female owner at this restaurant was very rude and condescending when ordering  take out. We were shocked by her behaviour, although we remained polite. When asking for napkins,  she threw them at us and they fell on the floor. She did not apologize. Her behaviour was very strange. Needless to say, I will not be coming back.

I paid 9$ for 3 tiny samosa's lmao. I get inflation is a thing right now. But that is just daylight robbery.I went there cuz it was halal had i known that I was paying that much for that quantity and quality, I wouldn't have ordered. Plus she told me it's a minimum of 3 per order. As a muslim i shouldn't ruin someone's business but if they are robbing you like that, you just cant help it put a bad review and not a good one.
