I purchased a Blackforest cake for my wife's birthday last week, the cake tasted old , sticky and too sugary.
The filling tasted like a cheap fruit jam and the texture was too starchy🤮
I can't believe how far down this once was a good bakery. Terrible service , Terrible experience

Jenifer at the Saint Germain Bakery in Metrotown provided outstanding customer service!

My mother had pre-ordered a cake and paid in full, but forgot her membership card for the discount. I called and asked Jenifer if we could process a refund for the discount. She initially offered a store credit for the difference, but when I picked up the cake, she told me she had checked with her manager, and they could refund the difference back to the original card.

I am extremely grateful for her proactive and helpful attitude. My wedding cake in 2013 was also ordered here, and the quality and taste remain consistently excellent. Although the prices are getting higher, the excellent service quality maximizes customer retention.

Good baked goods but marred by poor service. It can be busy at times but the cash staff lack basic customer courtesy and manners.

Around 10:30, I went to buy some bread, but the one I wanted was not available. Nearby, there was a female staff member who looked to be in her late 40s or 50s, wearing glasses, and she was on her cellphone. Since no other staff were around, I tried to ask her, but she, looking annoyed, pointed with her finger toward the counter and told me to go there. It was clear that she was on a personal call, not a work-related one.

We were able to get a fresh batch of Egg Tarts, which were eggy, creamy, and not too sweet. The crust was very soft. I did not like how it crumbled as I ate it, which felt a bit unpleasant going down my throat. We also tried the Triple Cheese Toast, Molten Cheese Tart, and BBQ Pork Buns. They didn’t particularly stand out, but were tasty.

They need to improve their customer service skills. Management should consider a better way to serve customers and reduce wait times in line. They offer the best bread and cakes, but the process for ordering a cake is inconvenient. Customers have to wait in the same payment line as everyone else, which is a waste of time.

Went there to get birthday cake. There was no one else behind me when I’m about to checkout. So just stand in the middle of two cashiers. But they ask me to line up again to the end of the new queue. Bad experience.

I ordered a cake from here yesterday for my birthday, and we had guests over to celebrate. Unfortunately, when we cut into the cake, we found a hair inside. It was incredibly disappointing and honestly very embarrassing in front of our guests.
We expected much better hygiene from a place like this. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others either.

Purchased carrot cake, coconut bun, blueberry muffins yesterday.

Cakes were not fresh, blueberry muffins were quite dry and they were not good for consumption.
