Pretty good except uni don. Overall, this place was okay, but there was one dish that really missed the mark: the Uni Don. It came with daikon, and honestly, the flavors just didn’t work together.

Definitely a don't judge a book by its cover you A-hole moment. Walked in to a rather empty restaurant, the staffs were talking loudly, like louder than costumers besides me loud, and such, so started off with a bad image. But man once the 3 tables including myself ordered, they locked in, no more talking loudly, very prompt tea refills, asian friendly speedy service. I was a bit peeved because all 3 tables ordered at the same time but my food came out last, yes....very maneur and petty of me, but oh man once the food came out, all was washed. I had my shares of under $15 sushi place lunch combo and Shen definitely has the freshest ingredients ever. Like taste is subjective, quality/freshness of ingredients are quite objective. The meats you can feel it as you chew, the shrimp you can really REALLY tell. At under $15 it's given that the shrimps will be full white cheap frozen. Shen's shrimp has that translucent tint, like obviously it's frozen not fresh, but like trust me bite the shrimp and you'll know what I mean. And the other ingredients I'd say also shares the same quality of freshness... I'll definitely go back and try their nigiri and sashimi slices...I initially didn't get them beacuse I wasn't sure what the quality of ingredients were going to be....now I know and will definitely go back!
