I usually stop by this place whenever I go to the market, but during my visit on August 27 around 12:30 PM, I had a very unpleasant experience with the cashier. When I went up to order, the cashier was not even at the counter but sitting and using their phone. They didn’t smile, looked uninterested while explaining things, and when I asked about the restroom, they didn’t mention that a key was required, so I had to go back again just to get the key. Even though it was just a to-go coffee and I left a tip, the cashier showed no sense of basic customer service. If I see this person working again, I don’t think I would go in to order.

This place is definitely more for the students and not a place to genuinely enjoy coffee. The bakery items are very cute but in my opinion not worth the price. The drinks were mid I couldn’t justify spending that much BUT I would drink all of it. The overall atmosphere is so cute. Will try going one more time to see if things change but for now it’s just not worth it with all the other cafe in the plaza
Sweet Potato Latte and Black Sesame Latte are absolutely DELICIOUS!!! However, tiramisu latte is wayyy too sweet, and I didn’t enjoy the chestnut latte either.
The vibes are quite lovely but this is where my positive impression ends. The macaron I ordered was dry and crunchy and the filling tasted more like hard butter than any kind of sweet icing. My drink was slightly better but tasted bitter, almost like it had gone bad. Honestly what a waste of $14...

It’s so cute in here and they have strong wifi and don’t complain about whether or not you’ve ordered or how long you’ve stayed.
Standing Egg Coffee in Burnaby is truly a must visit coffee shop in Burnaby. This trendy spot is always buzzing with energy, especially in the evenings when the city’s lively crowd gathers here until midnight. It’s no wonder why it’s become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
One of the main reasons people flock to Standing Egg Coffee is their incredible menu. Their Signature Matcha Latte is a must-try — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with a vibrant green hue that’s as beautiful as it is delicious. The Lavender Honey Latte offers a soothing floral aroma combined with a touch of sweetness, making it a perfect pick-me-up. And for those who love cold brews, their Nitro Cold Brew is silky smooth with a bold flavor that keeps you coming back for more.
The decor inside is absolutely stunning! The contemporary design features sleek lines, eye-catching art pieces, and a warm color palette that creates a welcoming yet stylish atmosphere. The hallway leading to the washrooms is a store display named Word of New Life Book and is lined with beautiful art pieces and decorative items for sale — from handcrafted ceramics to unique wall hangings, adding a charming boutique feel to the space.
What really sets Standing Egg Coffee apart is the friendly and welcoming service. The staff are always cheerful, attentive, and eager to help you find your new favorite drink or snack. Their genuine hospitality makes every visit feel like catching up with friends.
The overall ambiance is modern and thoughtfully arranged, with cozy seating areas, trendy lighting fixtures, and an open layout that encourages relaxation and conversation. It’s the perfect spot to work, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a peaceful moment with a great cup of coffee.
If you’re in Burnaby and looking for a stylish, vibrant coffee shop that stays open late, I highly recommend Standing Egg Coffee — a true standout in the neighborhood!

Got the iced hazelnut cold brew latte and the black sesame latte (hot). Both great flavours and not too sweet. Didn’t try food/pastries in the glass display as they didn’t look fresh or artisan

We ordered a slice of cheesecake and sweet potato cake. As soon as I took one bite of the sweet potato cake, I could tell it had gone completely bad. It wasn’t just slightly off, it was sour and clearly spoiled.
The sour taste lingered in my mouth and honestly ruined the rest of the experience. When we asked about it, the employee told us the cakes are frozen and defrosted, which only made me wonder how old the cake actually was and how they manage food safety.
The cheesecake wasn’t much better. Stale, with a hard and chewy texture that didn’t feel fresh at all. The employee did apologize and refunded the sweet potato cake, which I appreciated. This isn’t a place I’d return to.

I tried their black sesame latte, and the black sesame was not fine grind which makes it harder to swallow. It was ridiculous texture for the drink for what it costs (almost $8)
Tried their new chocolate matcha drink and it was so good! The staff was super friendly too. Highly recommend this place!
