I don’t know if it was just Monday lunchtime. But seemed it was setup with next to no service. Order and pickup yourself for both beer and food at the food truck. Beers are ok for craft beer. We had chicken tenders, and they were well below par.
The beer at Steamworks was excellent and really enjoyed it!Unfortunately, the food truck didn’t hit the mark. My burger patty had a hair in it, which was pretty off-putting. Disappointing experience on the food side!!
Great place to stop by for a beer, patio outside is in a quiet neighbourhood
A huge restaurant with locals, families, and tourists. This place has a large menu with a plethora of food options. They can seat small parties and large, with or without a reservation (even on a busy Saturday night). Their food was good and their drinks were good as well. It’s a classic brewery menu.
Hidden little gem in Burnaby. Do check it out.
Edit ** 2025 August. They now have a food truck but communication and everything has just gone to crap. Service sucks. Co.municatiim is awful. Was td at the truck to go order inside but noone is available to take an order. Seriously go somewhere else. Their new vodka soda is good tho. :( rather dissapointed tho.
Great beer, great staff. Good food on their food truck (not there will the time)
Well worth a visit, has an interesting indoor setting and an outdoor area. Food was available and the beers are as you would expect, most enjoyable. Will visit again to try another beer or two, it has to be done! Enjoy your visit.. Cheers.
Nonalcoholic beer was so good. Didn’t have food because the food truck had already closed for the day.
We requested and paid for a cold 30L keg for an engagement party a week before the event; the sign in the window says cold beer sold here. These basic expectations were not met; they handed us a warm keg stating”kegs don’t fit in our fridge”. We have been patrons of Steamworks for more than a decade so it was quite disappointing to experience such a brutal fail at a critical moment when we paid you ahead of time to do your job. We ended up purchasing ~$160 worth of beer (the keg was ~$130) as we were painted into a corner by the business. It would have been good customer service to own up to the oversight and attempt to mitigate the customers inconvenience (instead of putting your problems on the customer) due to the poor planning and execution on Steamworks part. Additionally, my brother and I are members of hockey teams; as we are so disappointed in how this experience ended, we will no longer be promoting or bringing business to Steamworks. I guess this is what happens when you have part time students running a business #amateurs
Craft beer heaven with serious personality 🍻🔥
Steamworks Brewery is a hidden gem for any craft beer lover. The moment you walk into the taproom, the vibe is laid-back, industrial, and totally cool. Their beer lineup? Creative, bold, and packed with flavour. You can tell they know what they’re doing.
Bonus points for the funky little beer van and the friendly staff who actually know their stuff. Whether you're grabbing a growler or chilling with friends over a flight, this place hits the spot every time.
Easily one of my top go-to breweries in Burnaby!

We were really looking forward to visiting Steamworks with my family, but the experience was disappointing.
The patio only left a table that had no shade at all, and the tables were too hot to sit at. Since I had my pet with me, sitting indoors wasn’t an option. I asked the staff if there were any extra umbrellas or if they could adjust the ones already there — the answer was simply “no.”
What made it worse was the staff’s attitude. I was told, “Maybe go make new friends and ask for a seat,” or “You can just take your drinks to go.” It felt dismissive and unwelcoming.
If the staff had offered a bit more help, or if the brewery had backup umbrellas or any kind of flexible solution, I would’ve really appreciated it. Sadly, none was offered.
We came wanting to enjoy the Steamworks vibe, but this completely ruined the experience.
Flagship is the best!!! Food truck also have great options! Ask for the Combo Burger and Beer 😉
The all.
Everything was amazing here! The food was delicious and the beer was great. This is definitely one of those places I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommended!
Great place with an excellent selection of beers. Service is great. They also have a food truck out back, but sure if food truck hours.
