Quaint sushi spot with big menue of sushi and Japanese dishes. Full bar and sake.
my boyfriend and i got the mini omakse set, along with a few cocktails. their selection of japanese whiskey was amazing and the other drinks were made well too. the food itself was solid, and most menus were unique and had great quality. however for its pricing one would expect the quality to be a little higher. service was great too.
One of the best authentic Japanese food in Burnaby. Rare and hidden gem. Fair price with great quality ingredients.
Great Japanese fine diningđ
Not very nice people
Would it be wrong to go again later tonight? .Amazing choices available. Best food I have had this year.
Update April 2025 - Been about 12-15 times now. Tonight we had hand Cones - 2xSoft shell crab - 2xNegitoro - Salmon Ikura. Fantastic sushi rice and crisp Nori , Oysters, The Bacon, Chicken Karaage.
The Tempura changes seasonally and has some fantastic items. Today it was white asparagus. I often have the fresh sheet collar but the Miso Sable Collar is addictive. Sometimes I order an extra one to take home. The salad served with warm wild mushrooms is another favorite.
The people who run the place are charming. Service is excellent. I am grateful to have been told about STEM. I hope they have a long lease.
I paid over $250 for omakase and only received four pieces of sashimi. To make matters worse, the server was pressuring us to place our order before we even had a chance to sit down. Easily the most disappointing omakase experience Iâve ever had.
A bit disappointing. I would go back but only for the blue fin tuna handrolls. I get that they're trying to be creative with the other dishes but they didn't hit.
For the squid gohan, the firefly squid itself doesn't taste like anything but fishy and a bit bitter, then you add bitter rapini to that and it's not a good dish. There was barely any butter, so the rice was very dry. I ended up soaking my rice in their miso soup so as not to waste it.
The appetizers were not good either, other than the tuna poke. The best were the handrolls, which is what I ate last time as well. So please stick with that.
The Wagyu Minced Cutlet is now one of my favourite dishes in the city. If you have room left, you shouldnât miss out on their amazing options of desserts and teas. Staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting options. Canât wait to go back!
Everything about this experience was incredible. Perfect, unobtrusive but very attentive service, a creative menu, highly skilled chefs. I donât drink alcohol and there was even fun NA cocktails for me, alongside an incredible wine and sake list! I cannot WAIT to go back, this little tucked away gem is a gift to the Vancouver culinary scene!

This place is such a hidden gem in Burnaby. It's small and in an area that is not so busy. You definitely need to make reservations here!
The menu is quite large with many options. The omakase looks and sounds amazing and I would love to try it one day but it would be a splurge.
I did try nigiri tasting which was soooo delicious. It was hard to choose a favorite! All of the seafood was fresh and melted in our mouths.
I also added a miso soup and the uni shot. The uni shot came with an egg and was very yummy. I also had the chawanmushi with added uni on top. For dessert I can't remember what I had but it was so refreshing and I loved the mochi pieces.
You can tell that this is an authentic Japanese restaurant and the food here is amazing! Super nice and attentive servers as well!
Everything was so good! Menu with a great selection from sashimi, sushi and traditional Japanese dishes.
The desserts are a must!
Nice little Japanese restaurant tugged away in the school neighborhood. The set menu was very appetizing both visually and palatably!
However, the quality for take out was the total opposite. The Hawaiian poke bowl was extremely salty and the salad in karatama don was not fresh and yellow. It felt like those to go boxes you get at a Japanese convenient store.
Highly recommend dining in than take out if you want a better experience.
Love everything. For me, the mini omakase was already enough for you to get full. BUT, you must not miss out on the Bluefin Tuna Sashimi âO-Toroââmy favorite from everything we ordered. The ambiance is nice and the staff are all friendly. Worth to try :)
I went for my birthday as a group of 12 guests, and they were able to accommodate us so gracefully with a beautiful set menu. The food was all outstanding -fresh/seasonal, and amazing value. The Japanese staff were very friendly -I apologize for the complex billing! Thank you so much for making our night special. Absolute hidden gem
