I work in the mall and used to eat at this location 3–4 times a week, always ordering through their app. Recently I found out I was double invoiced, so I reached out several times to get it fixed. Every time I was told someone would get back to me
 and nothing. Finally, I received an email from Manpreet Deol saying they only charged me once. I replied multiple times offering proof of the double charge — and then crickets. No response at all.
It’s amazing that they’re willing to lose a regular customer over $13. But I guess that’s the level of customer service you get at this location. Terrible!

This subway store is the best subway store in lower mainland!! Manpreet is super friendly and professional, warm and kind. Atmosphere is welcome and clean! The sandwich is made to perfection with lots of fresh vegetables! Not all subway stores have fresh vegetables. I come all the way here from Port Coquitlam to have my sandwich! 5 stars for sure 😇💕

From a place we loved to visit — to a shop where customers seem to get in the way.
For a long time, this Subway at 4429 Kingsway Unit 1B, Burnaby (Old Orchard Shopping Centre) was a small joy for me and my kids after sports. Simple sandwiches, nothing fancy — but the kids were always happy to get a bit of ketchup. It wasn’t listed among the sauces, but one of the staff clearly understood what customer service actually means.

Today? A very different story.
We were told — quite ceremoniously — that ketchup is “not included in any combo.” No exceptions. Sure, maybe it was never officially included, but until now no one made a big deal about it. The staff member reluctantly handed over a couple of tiny packets, then tightly sealed the sandwiches so I had to unwrap everything just to add the ketchup myself. The service felt more like “take it or leave it” than “we’re glad you’re here.”
Now try explaining this to children: why something that was always okay before is suddenly forbidden. Because now, the rules seem to matter more than the customers.
This isn’t a fine dining spot — it’s a fast food chain, where it’s supposed to be easy and welcoming, especially for families with kids.
To the management:
You’re losing customers not because you don’t have ketchup — but because you’ve made people feel like they don’t matter.
All it would’ve taken was a little flexibility and friendliness. Was that really too much to ask?
Your store just lost two young fans and one parent. Simply because you didn’t bother to preserve the atmosphere you once had.
I used to recommend this place to friends. Now I feel it’s only fair to update our local parent groups with the “new and improved” customer approach.
It’s the little things that say the most — especially about how much you care.
