Amazing sushi spot in the Metrotown area! I ordered the Sunshine Roll and salmon sashimi, both were fresh and flavorful. I also tried the bluefin negitoro with uni nigiri, and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. I’d come back just for that alone!
The staff member working was also amazing! He was so sweet and providing amazing customer service.

I had sashimi that appeared to be unhygienic, and I developed diarrhea shortly after eating it. The symptoms started soon after I got home and continued for several hours. I believe this may have been caused by contaminated or improperly handled raw fish. Please look into this matter and take appropriate action to ensure food safety. I have kept my receipt and can provide further details if needed

I don't usually write reviews but I felt the need to warn other people. I decided to try this place because of the 5-star reviews, but was bitterly disappointed by the food. Don't just read the 5-star reviews, please read the other 1-star reviews as well.
The sushi was of bad quality. The most glaring was the Hamachi sashimi was still frozen, and had a very unpleasant texture. The other sashimi were also dry, and not cut properly. The flavour was bland, and I did not want to continue eating.
To be fair, the lady server was nice and served me a tea while I was waiting for the order.

I placed an order on Oct 8 at 12:13 PM. I canceled the order immediately(12:14PM) because the delivery time was too long.
Crucially, when I canceled the order, the app provided NO warning or notification that I would be charged.
However, late that night, at past 11:14 PM, the full amount of the canceled order was processed and charged to my account. I never received the food, and the cancellation was instant.
Charging a customer for an order that was canceled immediately, without any warning, is unacceptable and feels fraudulent.
Came back a 2nd time for their Aburi and Tempura, the food was awesome but also had a cool, honest, and attentive waitor named Harry solo running the front of house with awesome cooks tag teaming at peak busy rush!

Sushi Toki is such a hidden gem! Their special rolls are truly special and so unique. You can really taste the love, freshness, and creativity in every bite. The prices are super affordable which makes every visit feel extra good.
The staff are so polite and attentive and it still amazes me that such great sushi is made right next to the SkyTrain. The chef’s table is right at the entrance and he always greets us with the most beautiful and authentic smile when we come in and when we leave.
Thank you Sushi Toki team for making so many wonderful lunches and dinners for us. We will always visit and cheer for your business to grow. You are amazing!
