Dropped in on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy. We had a relaxing supper in the pleasantly cool dining room with some easy listening music playing in the background. I tried the Sashimi & Sushi Bento Box and thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality was great and I thought it was a really good value for $21. Their California rolls seemed to be stuffed and the tempura was up to standards. The tea served was good and mellow. The staff were exceeding polite.
My local watering hole for sushi, they have incredibly friendly staff, tantalizing food, unique special rolls, (my personal favourite is the Rocky Mountain Roll!) and the quality is terrific. The salmon sashimi my partner and I get is consistently some of the best I've had in the city. I love this place and I hope they get the recognition and appreciation they deserve!
This has been our go-to sushi place for a few years now but I was very disappointed with our recent take-out experience. The salmon sashimi slices are super thin, the unagi nigiri had bones in it and the worst part was that there were pieces of shell in our spicy chopped scallop nigiri! I’m not sure what happened to the quality of food here but very disappointed.
By far the best sushi I ever had. Tried the yummy yam roll tonight for the first time and not surprisingly another scrumptious addition to the many rolls that far exceed any other place! You guys have my devout loyalty, always great every time!
Very excellent service and they treat you very well
order California to go , and I received a deep fired Avocado rolll
The people are nice, the one star is a must ,because there tempura feels like it's been cooked previously than microwaved. Spending over 30 dollars on 2 dishes that didn't even fill me seafood udon and prawn tempura. I was better off with a bento box or sushi tray. The portions should be larger if I'm ordering from the regular menu.
Editted based on Sushi U's response:
The price was 25.00 (see added receipt image) with a 12.50 discount. It was supposed to be 2 YAM ROLLS. Did I not get my correct order, or?...
Original review:
Huge rip off. Ordered yam rolls and assumed theyd be massive for the price and based on god reviews.
See picture - THIS cost $25.00. For yam rolls. Absolutely ridiculous.
Absolutely pathetic portions and ridiculously overpriced. You can do way better at nearly any other sushi joint in town. Avoid.
Environmentally inept. So much plastic and no concern for our local environment. This place is an embarrassment to our local businesses. Also Cali roll smells like red tide. Yuck and that plastic was a single person's meal. Do not go here.
Restaurantji Recommends
It was really clean and when i asked questions they answered clearly and didn't seem annoyed at me. The food was really good. I recommend the kappa and tamago roll.
Great service and is really good.
The Yaki Udon is so good.
Party trays are good and a good price.
Heat is broken, don't eat in until they fix or it's summer time again
Always get take out, wanted to dine in. It's middle of winter snd the air conditions blasting fully, so having get my food to go. Only person here, they refused to turn of the AC... pricey but it's beside my house and the quality had always been good so far. The temperature in this place in not allowing me to experience dining in as it's too cold. For myself I ordered a tuna tatami roll, tuna bite appy, and one piece of unagi. The bill came to 26.75 which is fine for a good meal. Not the 3 items for 16 bucks kind of place tho
