Quality sashimi, right amount of rice on nigiris, reasonably priced, and friendly staff
Great experience all around.

This place has amazingly fresh fish. I always get the deluxe chirashi and it never disappoints. The fact that it’s a little out of the way also means that I never have to fight a crowd to eat here. The inside of the restaurant reminds me of Japanese izakayas, and the Star Wars figurines at the counter add a little whimsy to the decor too. This is quite possibly the best sushi/sashimi you can find in this price range in the Pacific Northwest.

I’ve always enjoyed the food from this restaurant in my neighborhood and have ordered takeout many times in the last 4 years, so I hesitate to write this review. However, I was very disappointed with the shrimp tempura I ordered last night. Instead of the light, golden, and airy batter with tender shrimp inside that I’ve come to expect, the tempura arrived heavy, oily, and brown. Even the California rolls tastes different. It just wasn’t the same quality I’ve had in the past, and now I’m unsure whether I should order from this restaurant again. I hope this was a one-time slip.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The star of the meal lies not in a single dish, but it’s the sushi rice itself. It’s sweet and just perfect. I was glad that I ordered sushi rice to go with the baked salmon cheek. I liked everything I ordered. Would recommend.

This place is so underrated — I don’t hear enough people talking about it! Everything is always fresh, and there are tons of options to choose from. The only thing to note is that they don’t do teriyaki on rice, which is fine, just something to keep in mind if that’s usually your go-to. Only awful cell service! But who cares you are there to eat :)

Delicious. The salmon avocado hand rolls, gomae, lunch special chirashi, and salmon kama (grilled salmon cheek) were great. The sushi on the chirashi bowl was all so fresh and there was plenty of it. The unagi sauce under the sushi added a lot of flavour.
The salmon kama was a hit. Something I’d order every time I go back.
The motoyaki was okay. Note that they put spicy sauce on it.

Absolutely loved this place! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy yet modern—perfect for a date night or casual dinner. Service was top-notch: friendly, attentive, and quick. You can really tell they care about quality and customer experience. The prices were surprisingly cheap for the quality you get. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Sushimoto is one of my favorite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver, Small but very cozy and full of personality.
Im not a fan of sashimi but roll lover🤭
All their roll is fresh and delicious and has unique flavor.
My personal favorite was Star roll and sunshine roll.
It's was just too good and I forgot to take pictures šŸ˜‹ I wanna try all their rolls.
Im already planning my next visit.
This place is highly recommend.
Im already hungry just to think about it.😜

Very disappointing! Ordered a party tray and it was basically all cucumber and barely any fish. Wish I had taken a photo and would definitely not recommend.

They used to be good, but now it’s just trash. Your sushi comes with half a cucumber—cheap and embarrassing. They’re cutting corners and serving you bland, boring food with no effort at all. Zero flavor, zero pride.

The manager? Walking around like she owns the world, with a nasty bump on her lip that she should worry about more than pretending to be classy. Meanwhile, her loud, annoying kids are running in and out of the place like it’s their playground. Total chaos.

We politely shared our concerns, and all we got was the usual lazy response: ā€œWe’ll do better next time.ā€ Yeah right. No care, no responsibility—just more excuses from someone who clearly can’t manage anything properly.

No respect=No tips.

Never coming back. If you care about your money and your mood, stay far away from this place. It’s a joke, and they don’t even realize it.
