This place has EXCELLENT, fresh food and the staff were SO friendly! The reason why I gave 4 stars for atmosphere is that the seating area is very small (but CUTE!) and so you may not be able to plan to be seated when you go. We had takeout and it worked very well. Would definitely go again! I order the salmon oshi and it’s probably the best tasting dish out there! Loved it!

Their sushi is another level. I highly recommend this place!! Salmon oshi and Aburi Inari sampler just melt in your mouth. Taku's maki is also so good!! Best customer service and sushi restaurant in Vancouver!!

It’s a small place that doesn’t get any attention, but the food is quite fresh and tasty. Order ahead to avoid wait time as it takes about half an hour before you can pick up your items.Very friendly staff!

The salmon oshi here is the most delicious. The size is just right, and the jalapenos on top are thin and well-cooked with a torch, so the texture is good. The salmon is also well-cooked. I tried it here and it was delicious, so I went to another restaurant and ordered it, but I was surprised to see it came out undercooked. It's new. I tried the menu and it was delicious. It's bulgogi stir-fried udon, and even though it was packaged, the noodles were soft and not soggy. The salmon sashimi was thick and had a really good texture. Needless to say, the taste was great.

Food is decent for the pricing here as it is a take out only spot. Our uber driver didn't handle our sushi very nicely so the presentation of the nigiri looks horrible. I had to fix the presentation for the salmon oshi sushi as that was also all over the place when I opened the container.

The tuna nigiri didn't look or taste very fresh, it was ghost white instead of the nice pink or light albacore whitish/pink we didn't like it very much, we could not eat it. The nori on the cucumber roll as well, it didn't taste so fresh and had a little bit of a bad taste. Something was definitely wrong with the ginger, it smelled quite off, like sweat and was not edible. The ebi mayo/beef teriyaki was OK because the lettuce and rice was fresh but there was too much oozing sauce over all.

Finally tried this place for the first time and I wish I had ordered from this place earlier! Opening the take out box is like opening a jewelry box, everything looked as good as they tasted ?

A wonderful sushi experience! Fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced! Seriously folks, give this place a try. It's a little hole in the wall, but that just means they can focus on the quality of the food. You won't regret choosing Taku for your next sushi order!

Got Takus teishoku for $26. I felt like the sushi was average quality, pricing was above average. Takeout only so I would expect better pricing as well. Chef and waitress were very nice
