Super Dry, overpriced, and tiny portions of meat. Staff act like they’re doing you a favor just by serving you. Can’t believe this place still gets customers. Do yourself a favor and go to Crystal Mall instead — 5 bao for $8, huge juicy filling, and actually worth the money!

Loved this place when it was at its original Kingsway location, and was so sad when I thought it closed down. So glad to have found it at it's new spot at Edmonds! All the flavors are great but my personal favourites are the pork and pickled veg, deluxe, and adobo. Delicious dough, great bun to filling ratio, and super consistent product.

They also have the BEST chili oil - soooo addicting I could eat it by the spoonful (which I can't say about any other chili oil). We always buy extra.

Wow it is fabulous - really really good baos. Wasn’t expecting much but it really blew me away. Can buy a single one heated for a snack. Delicious. Love it.

We were happy to have seen this place when we were in the area. Really delicious bao (we had the bola bola, and red bean) and friendly and easy service. Bonus that they also have Malaysian white coffee :) We'll be back. Thank you!

We used to go to their old location in Metrotown and always enjoyed them as a quick take out for lunch. Today I stopped by their new location while running some errands nearby. WOW the bao are just as soft and yummy as we remember and I think they are even bigger than before! The new shop is clean and bright and the service was very fast and friendly as always. Our favourites are the curry beef, BBQ pork and spicy chicken. Since we live in Metrotown we have no shortage of great bao here but I will definitely still be coming over to Edmonds for these. 😋

The new location is harder to reach for people who rely on public transportation compared to the old location, which is across the back or Metrotown mall.

Ordered uber eats and they blamed uber for not telling them to send the right amount, and the filling and size is small for a bao, rather go to bao bakery or new town

JUICY BUN BAOS!!

Uber eats review:

Food highlight: My fav is the curry! It tastes so delicious and juicy with ALOT of flavours. I love trying new foods so this was a bun bao I never had before! It’s more on the salty side and tastes like Indian curry. The bun is soft and fresh! I also went for the pork deluxe if you like the classics

Service: Uber eats was on time and packages securely with their sticker to seal the box

Atmosphere: none

Packaging: genius box packaging that tells u what u ordered.

I would come here again for their curry buns! I’m craving for it now. It’s BOGO for their pork deluxe on Uber eats right now :)

I was super lucky to have stopped eating when I saw the house fly inside my spicy chicken bao. It can be a traumatizing experience when the insect looks so shiny inside my food.

I did Uber eats delivery of $60 and they were only able to refund me specifically the price of one bao $5 even after explaining the issue.

I recommend everyone at least do a quick check before eating away unless you enjoy the bonus protein / nutrients.

The Restaurant needs to have better quality control / cleaner kitchen.

Reply to owner: the fly was missing one wing. You can try putting a large fly intentionally in your bun and see if it disintegrates after steaming. I’m 99% sure this fly was inside when we ate the food. Note the fly was completely dead and blackened.

Recently visited and had the pork deluxe. Very satisfied with the juicy fillings and the softness of the warm bun. Reminded me a lot of the buns I had back home in Malaysia.

Would visit again along with family next time

In my humble opinion, this is the best restaurant serving savory and sweet steamed BAOs on the Lower mainland! Other places, do come close but, this is my go to place for “steamed BAOs” when I visit Vancouver! - August 2021

UPDATE: Since the move to Edmonds Street location, I have noticed a gradual decrease in the amount of filling inside the Bao buns (shrinkflation) plus a price increase. It’s understandable for doing business but, NOT both at the same time Please! - January 2025
