Service is horrible. Don’t bother with this place if you don’t speak Cantonese. Even if you’re Cantonese think twice, do you want to eat at a cafe that discriminates?
They will discriminate you if you speak Mandarin (Hong Kong really dislikes China people). For the record, I am Taiwanese but they can’t tell the difference. In their mind, speaking mandarin means you’re from China.

I’ve been coming to this cafe since I was a kid (but with my mom’s cantonese speaking friends).

We got minimal service and made me feel like I was a bother for asking for ketchup and hot sauce when the table beside us got offered hot sauce when their food was served.

At Hong Kong cafes they always serve drinks right away before the meal comes. The tables side us got their drinks right away. However, our drinks got served when we were almost done eating.

Table beside us ordered steak and got a steak knife. I ordered steak and got a butter knife. My mom asked for a steak knife and they never gave it to us.

We asked for the bill and waited 10+ mins before they gave it to us.

Basically, I had to ask for things that they automatically served to tables around us, and when asked, they would take a long time to get it to us. They were polite to tables around us and even made small talk with the table beside us. I felt very uncomfortable like I was a nuisance to them for requesting basic things.

Just because this cafe has a long history and already has long standing customers doesn’t mean they can treat people poorly.
Very disappointed.

Food is average not spectacular, paired with discrimination, I am definitely never coming back.

To top off our experience, my mom and I left after paying and passed front desk with a lady standing there that did not even bid us farewell or even a smile. The lady has been working at the cafe for 20+ years (recognized her from when I was a kid).

I understand that Chinese restaurants and canto cafes typically don’t have top notch service. I don’t care for top notch service, I care for respect. Save yourself from getting discriminated. Especially this day and age.

Staff is kind of annoying. They give you the menu then 1 minute later they get mad if you haven't chosen yet. Also, if you have peanut allergies, don't go there.

A quick stop for some food. It wouldn’t be the worst or the best but it fills the tummy.

The thing to make note of is the copyright infringement and stolen art from a local artist on their kids menu.

GUYS IF YOU SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS IN BC, PLEASE LET THIS RESTAURANT KNOW — power of the people!

The bottom left corner of the kids menu is a picture of a pug. This pug is designed by a local artist and the art was stolen and used WITHOUT permission or proper crediting. The artist is aware and has tried to reach out but has had no success.

First, the customer service is excellent here. The food quality is amazing. I really enjoyed the dishes. We had beef brisket with rice noodles daikon cake. We had steak and eggs in the milk. Tea is really good. Recommend coming. The value was really good as well. I would definitely be coming back.

We went there often and it’s been pretty decent experience till tonight.
I took my daughter there tonight, waitress who served our dishes were pretty friendly till we went to cashier to pay..
This lady looks like she hated seeing us for some reason and she never looked at us nor say anything.
I didn’t even wanna give her the tips with such attitude but still left about 15% for other nice ladies work there.
I guess it’s pretty normal for HK restaurants 🙄

Very oily food, not great

the food was delicious, price not too expensive. The ice lemon tea was really good, not too sweet, and tea flavor was good. Everything looks so good, couldnt pick just one. The all day breakfast combo is good deal.

The Boss Restaurant offers decent Chinese food with friendly service and fair prices. It’s always busy, so expect a wait—but that’s usually a good sign!

Nothing wrong as Hong Kong style. Generously supplying excessive carbs, and as less protein as possible. Obviously over-priced.

Food is good, price is reasonable. Received excellent customer service from Winnie, the cashier. Definitely will come back again.

Never happy helping a client. Dropped the dishes in front of our face and left . No smile, no talk. Godness so uncomfortable eating here.
