great environment, clean and well maintained, but meat quality gets worse after a few rounds, but can ask the servers for better cuts if not satisfied!
Great place and worth the price of you eat a lot
Our server Nathan was great, food came rlly quickly and all the staff were so kind. The soup lacked flavour but overall the whole experience was great. đ
I like this place. I would recommend coming, I get very full eating here!
Really great food and atmosphere! Sean our waiter was really helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back again
Recently went here for Lunch with the family.
It was around 60$ per person for AYCE for 2 hours. We went on a Saturday at around 12:30 to 1ish and the wait was only a few minuted to be seated.
2 Hour FREE Parking is included, by parking in the lot behind the restaurant and then scanning at QR code at reception.
So the way it works is you basically pay for the soup base (which is priced at 59.99), and order any sliced meats (no charge) on the iPad they give you. And any other vegetables, noodles or other add ons you want to put into your soup base is at the back for you to grab yourself. You have a 2 hour dining limit, but you can order as much meat as youâd like. They also have a dessert bar and sauce bar as well that you can customize to your liking. Afterwards they also give complimentary Soft Serve ice cream. Staff is very friendly and always checking in on you and collecting plates as you go. Definitely somewhere Iâd go for more special occasions, rather than a normal outing.
Great place for a late night AYCE,
This place is goated!
Fantastic, all you can eat, kids eat free friendly/attentive staff. Would recommend 100% to anyone
Food is okay, but the service is terrible. Asking for more water for my and my wifeâs hotpot but be ignored several times. Asking for the bill, and we waited more than 25 minutes for just a bill.

I took my senior dad (about $40 senior rate) for lunch around 1:15 on a Tuesday and it was pretty quiet, which I like. I had previously been to the Richmond ChoCho twice for dinner and it was packed. I made a reservation just in case. I thought everything was great. All the food was freshly stocked up even though it was a quiet day for them. Still and sparkling water was included (I like that they left a bottle of each at the table for each of us) and they have a $2.99 all you can drink soft drink special now (but I was happy with the sparkling water as I wanted to save room for food. However, I do enjoy plum juice and will probably try theirs next time since it goes so well with hotpot. There's lots of selection. I really like how everything is included in the price - we had almost all of the meats and I usually don't get chicken but just wanted to try something I hadn't had before and it cooks up super tender and tastes good. I even tried the vegan platter which was fine. This time, I did not see any premium items that required an extra charge, and that's great. My strategy is to get a few warm dim sum items to eat while waiting for the pots to boil but that is actually really fast since they are individual pots. I like that you can have up to two different broths in your personal pot (tomato and tom yum for me). You can order a few deep fried things so that it comes out fresh (but we didn't this time, but I appreciate that). The only things that I would change would be: to add daikon (lo bak). It's such a cheap item so I wouldn't eat too much, but I love it in hot pot and can't figure out why they don't have it. I wouldn't want anything to go away though - love the winter melon and taro. Maybe in place of carrot if they don't have enough room. Maybe add some sort of cake to the dessert table like cut up swiss mango roll, mixed fruit sponge cake, or maybe tapioca pudding. Something small dessert that is solid. I love their station to make a bowl with beans, all sorts of jellies, mochi, balls, etc. Mochi was really good. I also love the candy station (they have nice quality candy), and that you can get a soft serve waffle cone from the server. There's also egg tart, sesame ball, etc. from the dim sum side but I forgot about that at the end of the meal - missed the little sesame ball this time. And I probably could have had one of those little buns with sweetened condensed milk. But the cake is just a thought. There's fruit at the sauce station too - orange wedges, pineapple slices. 2 hours limit was fine with my Dad, but I have felt like I wanted a lot more time with friends. 2.5 would be ideal. Maybe that could be an option for people reserving. Free parking under the building for 2 hours (scanner inside lobby of restaurant) worked. I think it's great that they have late night specials too. This is a great place to hot pot any time you want, even if you don't have a large group of people. Some other places need a lot of people to be able to order a variety of items because they come in such large portions. Because of the buffet style for most items, it's easy to get the variety and even the platters of meat are served in reasonable portions and you can get as many as you want. If you're new to Chinese hot pot, this is a great place to get an introduction. Personal pots are so much easier to reach too.
Overall, there's really nothing to complain about with this AYCE hot pot place. The dining environment is quite comfortable, and the quality of the ingredients is decent and fresh. Ordering via tablet is very convenient, and the self-service bar offers a wide varietyânot just hot pot ingredients, but also fried foods, appetizers, dim sum, desserts, and fruits. The service is also quite good. If you're looking for an above-average AYCE hot pot restaurant, this place is definitely worth the price.
Why charging customers credit card fee of 2% while we are already paying for premium price of hotpot? There are so many restaurants out there lower tier or mid tier do not charge credit card fee. Is it because of the greed? And then Chocho says they will waive the credit card fee if customers do the survey. But if you split the bill, every payment by credit card needs to do the survey once. We paid premium price for premium service. Not to get annoyed by these nitty gritty extra charge.
AYCE Hotpot Happy Hour for $42.99 @chochohotpot in Burnaby. Great Food & Service. Jada our server was excellent đ. Food came out lightning fast! Definitely one of my favourite AYCE Hotpot places. We didnât have a reso available but joined the online waitlist and got a table in about 2 hours. @thefoodiecarguy
I visited Chocho Hotpot recently and left with mixed feelingsânot about the food, but about the overly theatrical service. Two things in particular really disrupted the dining experience:
First, after we were already seated and ready to eat, the server spent nearly five minutes explaining promotions for other time slots that didnât even apply to us. It felt unnecessary and overly scripted, as if they were following some checklist rather than reading the room.
Second, the server responsible for our section took a 15-minute break and made sure to personally stop by every single table to explain that he was going on break. I understand the intention might be to show âgood service,â but honestly, it came off as intrusive and performative. We came to enjoy our meal, not to be part of some customer service theater.
I really question the logic behind these service protocols. Does the management genuinely think this improves the experience? Because from a guestâs perspective, it feels forced, disruptive, and frankly a little absurd.
