Hands down one of the best coffee shop in Burnaby

So I bought summer duo and it was incomplete I paid 7.10 $
I was told the whip cream is only for the advertisement and not to be sold and there was no caramel or chocolate as seen on advertising board. Very disappointed management u need to take this drink down or do better. Coz it's definitely not worth that price for naked drink.

Extremely rude and unprofessional Asian man owner at the Kingsway Burnaby location.

I’ve been a loyal Waves customer for years and was shocked by how I was treated here—not once, but twice. I asked for the bathroom code and was met with suspicion and hostility. The owner asked if I was going to buy something before giving the code, even though he recognized me from a previous visit where I ordered my dark hot chocolate with oat milk.

I was told it was “company policy” to question people like this. When I contacted Waves head office, they confirmed no such policy exists. This location is clearly operating under its own discriminatory and disrespectful standards.

I’ve never been treated this way at other Waves locations. The staff in New Westminster, for example, are kind and welcoming. The contrast is night and day.

The behaviour of the man running the Kingsway branch is not only unprofessional—it’s offensive, controlling, and damaging to the Waves brand. I left feeling angry, disrespected, and unwelcome.

I won’t be returning to this location again. Waves needs to seriously reevaluate who they allow to represent their name.

I went to their location at New West, the same day and asked for washroom code and without any hesitation or question they provided the code and then I ordered my hot chocolate without any drama enjoyed it.

The Frappes are amazing. Better than ice capp and starbucks. They use real ice cream in them as well.
Location is great and clean.
Interior has tons of seating and space for a coffee shop.
Staff are quick and polite.
I wish this place was open 24/7 however.

Service was okay. I was excited to order a matcha iced latte with white chocolate as I haven’t had a matcha let alone a white chocolate matcha from waves coffee. But I tasted neither matcha or white chocolate in my latte. It tasted just like a glass of milk out of your fridge. Highly don’t recommend trying their matcha since it was around $7 for a regular and it was purely a waste of my money.

Very poor service! No customer service skills at all! Mostly they are really kind and it was the reason i always visit. Here used to be my favorite place. BUT Saturday night shift barista with short hair is extremely unkind and rude. (Maybe Japanese or Chinese. I don’t remember). He just ignores when customer say “thank you” or “how are you”. All the time he is with angry face. When he made a mistake on my drink, he didn’t even mention anything even though he noticed that. I don’t wanna be too much picky when i order just a cup of coffee, but at least you shouldn’t be rude when you work.

Bring the kind girls back to here…

I love coming to this coffee shop — it feels just like my own place! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the customer service is always excellent. A special shoutout to Malik — he's super friendly and always makes my visit even better.

It's a perfect spot to enjoy time with friends or have a productive work meeting. Highly recommend!
