Please train your server’s attitude. They are always rude to non Chinese customer. I asked for soy sauce , and she didn’t answer . So I asked her again , and she got angry at me for the reason that I was not waiting . She just stood in front of me , and cared for my table , so I asked , but she didn’t reply , that’s why I told her again . Please think again before you reacted rudely .

I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at this restaurant. Typically, I choose not to leave a review if I encounter poor service; I simply leave without tipping and do not return. However, my experience warrants attention.
My party and I arrived at 11 AM for dim sum, and the restaurant was nearly empty. Unfortunately, the food was served lukewarm. The server chose to navigate the space inefficiently, serving the dishes between my friend and me despite the ample room available to serve the dishes from each of our side. This led to a frustrating experience as the atmosphere did not encourage open conversation, compounded by the air conditioning blowing directly on our food.
When I went to pay the bill, I was taken aback by a staff member who yelled at me about not leaving a tip. While I understand that tipping is customary in Greater Vancouver, I believe that it should reflect the quality of service provided. If a restaurant expects tips for subpar service, they might consider incorporating it into their pricing structure.

Yan's Garden is one of my go-to restaurants for Chinese takeout in the area, and the only one I order dimsum from (because they helpfully offer all-day dimsum!) I'll be honest and say that I've rarely ever been able to eat dimsum with any of my family since moving out, so I don't know what the average price per dish is nowadays if you dine-in somewhere else. But the prices here seem reasonable for takeout considering that they have to package everything and there are lots of containers involved. Taste is great and portions are excellent as well. Some of my favourites are the steamed rice rolls, the fish maw soup, and the salted egg yolk buns.
Chinese restaurant for non Chinese people, being a Chinese it’s a disgrace they would feed these mediocre “Chinese” dishes to foreigners. Extremely backwards in thinking. Paying customers deserves better.
