Mattone Italian Kitchen is a family-operated restaurant that offers a variety of Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, and gelato. The food is generally good, with a tasty sauce and a nice focaccia. The gelato and sorbet come in many flavors and are highly recommended. The staff is friendly and can assist in deciding on flavors. The pizza was excellent, and the Cioppino was excellent with a loved flavor background. Always get the tiramisu—one of the best things ever eaten!
The brunch menu consists of only five options, and service can be slow, but the garlic butter with bread is absolutely fantastic. For dinner, the service is cafeteria-style—order and pay upfront, then dishes are brought to your table. The lasagna is very good, and the spicy seafood and sausage fresh pasta dish is excellent. The room is beautiful with a million-dollar view, perfect for watching stormy skies clear.
Mattone also offers grab-and-go options for cooking at home and caters to dietary restrictions, such as lactose intolerance. The place gets packed early, so reservations are recommended for weekend dining.
