I'll echo some of the other reviews here - the food is nowhere near as good as when it was TBR. The beer options are great and have improved over TBR, so pick your poison!
We loved the TBR burger, now the Brewery burger, and it does not taste the same. Meat is drier and less flavourful. The beer cheese fries (previously cowgirl fries) are not as good either. Have had the above combo a few times since they have opened and it has not gotten any better. I would bring and recommend the above combo for out of town guests, now I sadly avoid Tailout for food.

Used to have great food as the beer refinery. As Tailout it now has a new menu and it is super disappointing. It is very basic with no delicious pizza or more elevated options that used to be available. The food we did try was pretty bad to be honest. They still serve pretzels but they tasted stale and dry and the cheese sauce was like sticky glue with no cheese flavour, very different to the old delicious beer cheese they used to have. We made the mistake of trying their new mac and cheese menu that was made with the same weird gluey cheese sauce so it was sticky and dry at the same time. Sad as this used to be one of trails best dining options! If you’re coming here, stick to the beer and skip the food and you won’t be disappointed.

The food was good with a good atmosphere. The servers were also incredibly nice! Mac and cheese and chicken strips were very good.

Very disappointed in the food. Used to love the food when it was TBR, but after giving it several tries, I won’t be going back. They got rid of the Brussel sprouts, beef dip and now pizza and the beer cheese sauce for the pretzels. Tried the poutine today and the gravy was actually gross- lumpy and zero taste and the chicken wings were so overcooked they were rock hard. Hopefully they can get it together or they won’t be around for very long.

Great atmosphere and tasty beer. Good selection of unique brews on tap, and some tasty dishes too!
Good beer, food, and service. Crispy chicken burger was well cooked and the beer/cider i tried was excellent. Had a pint of the, currently on tap, raspberry lime sour and it was one of the best sours I've enjoyed.

My partner and I recently tried the new menu. The food was very underwhelming. Cauliflower wings were soggy and oily, Mac and cheese had no cheese pull. Looked like something I could make at home. We added the pulled pork which was grey and only a few chunks.
Mentioned our distaste to the staff and they defended it. A curry, weekly flatbreads or something like that would be better received in this town. Bring back the pizza

Asian Salad: extremely salty, over-peppered, & had red pepper seeds in it.
Gouda mac n' cheese: sauce is grainy, oily, over-salted, & unnecessarily peppered as well.
Underwhelming food that I didn't bother finishing. Will not be trying again.

Staff was nice, they were changing menus so we had very limited food options, but sandwich was good. Service was very slow, no check ins for 20 minutes at a time⁰

Cold and overcooked burger with a very uninterested server. There was no one else in the restaurant and the burger took 25 minutes and was cold when it arrived. Not sure what the issue is in this place but was pretty underwhelmed for the price and the service was sub par.
Love the new location, enjoyed some tasty beers!

I work in Trail quite often and typically eat here at least twice a week when I’m in town but today was the last time. The food and service have STEADILY declined over the last six months. $27 for an undercooked burger and lukewarm coffee and not even an acknowledgment or thanks for coming in…there are far better places to eat in Trail and the surrounding areas.
Went for wing night was very disappointed. They clearly precook their wings and heat them in the oven when ordered which leads to them being over cooked and very very tough. I only ate one of the 2 orders of wings I ordered. I turned down a box to go when offered and the waitress didn’t ask if everything was ok with the wings or offer to take them off the bill. I was disappointed to pay for a lb of wings that I didn’t eat when the first lb was barely edible. I didn’t feel the service was attentive enough. Had to wait a long time for our bill. The warm bottle of water we were given tasted chlorinated. I realize it’s Trail water but serving it cold or filtered would make a big difference. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I won’t be back (I.e 3 stars instead of less) I just won’t order the wings again.
Brewery staff are outstanding, the menu is absolutely delicious, and the beer is fantastic!
Tailout is a must-go location, and the perfect addition for downtown Trail.
