We searched this place on a whim - and LOVED the atmosphere, as well as Maria who gave us the history behind them and their wine. The 5 wines she had us taste were amazing. So tasty we bought a bottle of the rosé and plan to buy more at a later time as we are heading home. We love the family feeling behind this winery and will definitely stop in again - once we come back to the island. If you’re in the area, please stop in! 10$ for a tasting and a lovely courtyard/vineyard to peruse and enjoy!

My partner and I visited Cherry Point Estate Wines and we were welcomed with open arms. Maria walked us through a tasting and had unique stories for each wine, specifically the spritzy rosé. The property was a beautiful site, Xavier and Maria take great pride in their winery. We highly recommend adding Cherry Point to your next adventure!

Fantastic wine, a favourite for over two decades!

I highly recommend a visit and tasting.

One of the four oldest wineries in the valley with an astonishing number of varietals for their size where you will be welcomed graciously by the owners Maria and Xavier Bonilla. Make it a must stop in the area and treat yourself to what they are pouring that day. An interesting number of Northern European varietals explained and described with precision. There is a taste here to suit every palette. This is the wine tasting experience that California offered 40 years ago and hasn’t in decades. Our thanks to this lovely couple for an hour and a half of an afternoon I will not forget until we return next year.

Went here on Mother’s Day to have a tasting, and it was fabulous. The wines were good and the owner, she was very friendly and talkative and told us lots of stories.

Very disappointed in this winery, i have heard great things and the wine was great. The owner is very not friendly or inclusive. expensive tasting and you get rushed through each glass, no questions answered with more than 1 word replies, he gives you about a drop to taste. least favourite winery on vancouver island.

Delicious lunch enjoyed outdoors. Attentive server. Enjoyed the deep dish salmon, yam and spinach quiche with phyllo pastry and the curried cauliflower soup. Coffee was good too!

Cherry Point Vineyards is a hidden gem on Vancouver Island. Any negative comments are being made by people who don't appreciate the experience of visiting a small, family run, business where the owners are the ones likely tasting you the wines. This is in contrast to the large corporate wineries that are increasingly buying up wineries on the island and installing flashy tasting rooms, and serving inferior wine described by verbose tasters who really don't know what they're taking about, just reading a script.

Complaints about the quality of Cherry Point wines are being made out of ignorance, from people with little knowledge of how wine is made or simply have no palate. The wines being made here are the most full bodied, clean, and flavorful wines on Vancouver Island, and perhaps in much of Canada. The cool temperatures on Vancouver Island are not conducive to producing red wines, but Cherry Point does it, and is the only winery that does it well. We make a trip up to Victoria annually to restock our cellar with several cases of Cherry Point.

As a bonus, when it's open you can visit their bistro where the food matches the quality of the wine. That's rare and nowhere else on the island can you experience that. Make the trip and enjoy the experience.

Four of us were looking forward to tasting local wines around Duncan. First stop was Cherry Point Estate wines. The server would have been hard pressed to provide a smaller sample. At best we would have two teaspoons….though I feel that would have been more generous. He went from white to rose to red without cleaning or changing glasses. My friend wanted a full bodied red and was sold on Bête Noire Gran reserve 2018. He didn’t have one open to taste so she bought based on his word. Opened later at a restaurant and was full bodied with sediment. Was not clear at all and tasted terrible. Was extremely disappointed. Went with wine bought in the restaurant. His bottle was a waste of money

Fantastic wine tasting, fantastic conversation. Its a shame we are here on vacation or we would be driving out to grab a bottle regularly.
