I've been a fan of Friesen's for many years. However, each time I have been there in the past couple of years I can't help but be turned off by two things. Before I mention them, I must say the food has always been wonderful and the serving staff is lovely. The problems are, very dirty (filthy) floors, especially in the bathroom and the screeching sound of chair legs dragging on the floors as people are being seated and getting up. The latter could be remedied with felt pads on the chair legs.
The room to the side is jammed with tables and chairs with very little room to be seated and unseated.
The yellow doors in the bathroom need wiping down occasionally and the floor beneath them is disgustingly dirty.
I can't help but think if the public area of the premises is so dirty, what happens in the kitchen? I want to give Friesen's another go, but if there is no improvement in the cleanliness, I'm not going back again.
With the doors open, there were a lot of flies in the eating area and likely in the kitchen as well. I only write this as an example of what more people than just me will notice and not bring this to your attention, but will tell others.
I do like the ordering from the individual menus now!

What a great atmosphere like eating at (your relative’s who live on a farm) back yard. Come with your appetite! Self serve coffee and water, very friendly staff! Will definitely stop in next time I’m in town!

I went there this morning with a couple friends, and had high hopes, overall my eggs Benedict was poor, I didn’t enjoy the sauce, plus I added bacon on the side for extra cost and it was overcooked. My friend ordered a bagel however it was not dense. Much more like bread. The floor is not clean and the trail to the kitchen and bathroom is extremely grimy. The bathroom had no lie 40 flies in it. The exterior of the building is also dirty, it appears as if nobody cares.
Overall whoever runs this restaurant needs to up the standards. Best thing I can say is the pricing was fair, and service was reasonable, however the coffee is self serve… not sure why at a full service restaurant. Based on my experience there today I would not return. Hope this is taken as constructive criticism to the owner.

Friesen’s has been a special place to my grandmother and I for over 10 years. The only place we go to eat when we want to have a date. We went there for lunch today and no one came to bring us menus or greet us for 10-15 mins so I went in and grabbed menus and let them know we still haven’t been seen yet. Another 15 minutes went by and still no server so I had to go in again and ask that they take our order to which the server said she could just do it right there inside. I asked for water and she told me to get it myself so I did. The server then brought our coffees out which were spilling over the cups and all over the table. My grandma asked for napkins so we could clean the mess up and the server ignored my grandma and left. So I got up again to go get napkins only to see that she had heard my grandma and did intentionally ignore her but brought two napkins. My grandma asked if she could bring us a few more since it wasn’t enough and she told her to go and get her own. My grandma is 85 years old and I’ve never had such bad service in my life or seen a server treat myself or my grandmother so poorly. I told another server or manager there how rude our server was and she took over our service. She was friendly but at no point did we receive an apology or anything. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back there after over 10 years of our favourite place to visit.

A perfect, quiet little gem. I’ve always enjoyed this place and with the recent expansion outside for the kids area it adds to already great atmosphere. I took a family of 10 and everyone enjoyed their food with great prices and the in house raspberry lemonade is perfect for a summer day. Enjoy your experience

Such an amazing experience!! Kids had a blast just playing in the play area while adults just enjoyed conversation! Felt like home from the food to the overall environment! 1000% would recommend to anyone in the area!!!!

We stopped in for coffee but ended up having breakfast. There was such a noticeable improvement in the atmosphere of restaurant now under the new management.

My friend comment that the layout seemed tidier and more organized.

Best sourdough. Worth the drive from Kelowna. Great location for families - it looks like they have a playground and a garden to explore as well.

The food here was excellent, and the entire restaurant, garden, and bakery were impressive. However, my only criticism is that the establishment appeared to be understaffed. The waitresses did their best with the resources available, but unfortunately, only two of them were responsible for managing all the tables inside and outside, as well as the bakery, store, and drink bar. This was an excessive workload for two individuals, resulting in significant delays in receiving our drinks due to a long lineup at the front and a missed meal.

Great country restaurant

The service was terrible, Unfriendly and inattentive. We waited an hour and a half for our food and were brushed off when we asked how long it would be. When we finally decided to cancel our order and leave the staff was still rude. Another group was in the same boat as us and had been waiting even longer. I cannot speak to the food as we never got any.
