Joe, Michael, and Braden are the best bartenders in Vernon... bar none... even Leo who was hired for a week, greeted us and took the time to get to know us personally when we first walked in. Waitresses are always helpful and friendly no matter how busy. Food is amazing... but truly feeling at home is what brings us back every time, appreciate it much guys!”

“I can’t rave enough about my friends and I’s visit today… after a stressful morning where plans fell through we ended up at cactus from an hour out of town.Everything from the second we entered the front door was exceptional!!!Our patio server Rachel was great. Made us feel welcome, she was attentive, asked questions the right question to recommend drinks we absolutely loved.We ordered the prawn crunch roll and carpaccio…. Excellent 10/10!!!! “I have gone for breakfast several times now and it’s always great! But today, today I got some of their cheesecakes. I almost don’t want to tell you how good they were because everyone will buy them all up and there won’t be any left for me. Not too sweet, very creamy and delicious flavours. I got one of each flavour to take home and they were so amazing!”

“My girlfriend and I shared a big ribeye, and as one would expect at a steakhouse, and based on my previous meals at this venue, the steak was prepared perfectly. We also shared the tomato bruschetta salad and a nice VQA cab sauv, perfect complements and ample for both! A booth in the back corner provided a private setting. We love this place but one slightly negative comment: in my opinion there should not be an extra charge for horseradish to accompany an expensive steak. An upcharge was added for splitting the meal but we got extra veggies and potatoes. We will definitely go back.”

“We had an amazing stay at the Castle. All of the staff were so polite and friendly, and even offered our friend the Penthouse for his birthday! The room was massive (two beds, two bathrooms, full kitchen), and all of the amenities were top notch! The room was clean and comfortable, with massive amounts of space for the two of us. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the pool and hot tub for as long as we could. This is an excellent property and next time we're in the area, we will be staying here again!”

“Absolutely amazing samosas. The pastry is so flakey and light. The stuffing is seasoned just right and not greasy. So flavorful. And the sauce to go with it...you will want to lick every drop. Joe was very kind and brought over some samosas to the PSAC folks on the picket line. Thank you, Joe!!! The samosas were so delicious that I bought some to take home. While I was there, Joe gave me a sample of the butter chicken sauce and the cholo bowl. I have yet to try the butter chicken sauce, but the cholo bowl was to die for! It's his own recipe and it is phenomenal. It's like a cross between a stew and a soup and the flavors are a dance on your tongue! I will be stopping here next time I am in Vernon!”

“This is my favourite bakery in Vernon. The baking is so inspiring and its a dilemma to choose what to get every time. I buy the sourdough bread weekly. The cinnamon buns are out of this world. You cant go wrong with whatever you get!”

“Hi there, my buddy and I just stopped for a quick bite after a long busy day, and were made two amazing burritos with the freshest veggies I've seen in a long time!! Their pineapple salsa is out of this world and a must try!!!! Word of caution, their hot sauce is legitimate hot sauce, use extreme caution lol, but honestly the best experience!! The guac was a much appreciated added touch! 10/10 would advise! The fact the owners are so heavily involved and present means so much now a days, when take out has become so basic. Breathe of fresh air indeed!”

When you first walk through the doors, you are greeted by darkened wood accents, and sleek, elegant decor. The aroma playfully dancing throughout the establishment is subtle, and not overbearing or obnoxious. An eye catching cherry blossom tree stands graciously in the centre of the room. It doesn't appear out of place, or tacky — it's perfect. The staff are attentive, convivial and informative. It's a comforting environment to be within, this makes the process of settling in to visually feast on the menu a much more relaxed and enjoyable experience. The food; in my near forty years of life, I have consumed many plates of sushi and sushi imitations, (even gas station sushi — I'm not proud of it, but it happened...) Sushi KaWa is hands down one of THE best, if not THE best sushi places in Western Canada! I know, I know... sounds crazy, right? At least hear me out; Sushi KaWa is not egregiously overpriced. They're not skimpy on portions, and they don't value flare and theatrics over dining and satisfaction. There are no trendy queues that stretch around the block, it's just good old fashioned good eats! This place, 10/10. I stand by that. It's perfect for a first date, and a returning one. And in my case, it was perfect for a special anniversary date. Try the Volcano Roll — you won't regret it.”

“This was my final Japanese restaurant I had yet to try in Vernon.After multiple visits to Japan and annual trips to Asia, it is great to see Vernon have a large number of Asian restaurants.J-Don has been here for a long time. Donburi and Udon dishes are most commonly ordered here. It's definitely their specialties.I really like how the restaurant is decorated and how bright it is.They give you a tray for your bowl, a cup of water, and chopsticks.The Veggie Don came to $15.33 after tax.
