We knew nothing of Avenue Bistro before walking through the doors and I am so happy we checked it out. We were met with charming, attentive, friendly service and delicious homemade German food. I was so tempted to order a burger (my go-to) but when I saw Schnitzel on the menu I had to try it along with the local beer. So good!!! A true gem!

The service and people are wonderful. Unfortunately our food was incredibly disappointing and the gnocchi was mush and tasted like raw flour. When we brought this to the attention, we were told that they are not able to cook it right. But if it's incorrect, we weren't sure why they would serve it to us. We were then offered a dessert but it was really not good at all either. It was really disappointing. If something is not served correctly, it should be corrected so that it is edible. None of us were able to eat gnocchi.

Delicious comfort German food and exceptional service! Extra cozy atmosphere if you snag the circle booth near the bar. We went here on a Monday evening and it was unexpectedly busy - but our servers were so kind and attentive nonetheless. We were celebrating a birthday and were presently surprised that they gave us a complimentary dessert. A lovely neighborhood spot, we'll be back!
