Always a pleasure to visit Avenue B. Seated quickly by friendly staff. Had the charred Ceasar salad. Unique and very tasty. Loved the fried capers and croustini. My wife had the fish and chips and I, the buttermilk chicken burger. Both were perfectly prepared. Side order of fries not needed but wow!!! I especially enjoyed my added truffle seasoning. Should also mention the professional and friendly staff. Attentive without being intrusive. Thanks for making it a great evening. We'll be back to further explore the menu!

Brilliant service all round. The ambiance and food were delightful and delicious. The Caesar salad (with added succulent chicken and bacon) and schnitzel yummy, very generous and works of art. We also enjoyed meeting and chatting with the owner and amazing chef Matthias. It was a very nice end to our trip from uk, and hope to return on a return trip. Highly recommend.

Our first time at the Avenue Bistro and hab an awesome experience. There were 5 in our group. We were seated in the dining area and our server was Lindy who took great care of us. We started with the Oyster mushroom "calamari " and baked brie. Both were delicious. For entrées, two had the pork schnitzel forester style, Two had Gambas Ajillo and one had beef Roulades. The portions were generous and very tasty. Sadly, no room for dessert. We all agreed that the Avenue Bistro is a great place to dine. The staff took exceptional care of us and the food was excellent.

Breaded Fish was amazing. Fry's were not a hit to me. The mushroom oil seems pointless added to such mediocre Fry's.The drink was very good but over priced for what I got. My hot Toddy without whiskey was $8 I asked to add whiskey because that's what a hot Toddy is and my drink came to $16. That is ridiculous.Waitress, hostess, waiter and all staff I encountered were amazing and super friendly. Bathroom was very nice. Tables were set up in a way that looked crowded. Booth seats were also available which is where I sat. Beautiful local art on the walls, that were available to purchase I think, gave the place a hometown feel. I would say it has higher prices than I am used to. But not necessarily overpriced for the area. No views. Overall I will not be going back as it is not worth the money for someone lower income. For someone with a little extra to spend on a fancy date night I think it is a beautiful restaurant with no frills but gives you a bit of a fancy feeling cause your spending a bit more money. ?

Food and service is good. My only suggestion when serving “any” pasta dish, there should always be Parmesan cheese on top. When I asked for some, it was considered a side which I would have had to pay for. First time experiencing that.

Absolutely delicious Pork Schnitzel, Forester style. The side of red cabbage was particularly good! The service was prompt and cheerful. Thanks for a nice night out Avenue.

Service was pleasant and competent. Ambience was okay, but lights could be dimmed a fraction so it feels less like a diner. Cocktail: a spritz consisting of tequila, aperol, and green chartreuse seemed like an adventurous choice, but it was downright incompatible. The mains: 1) Pork schnitzel 'forester style' (mushroom gravy) schnitzel served with red cabbage and spaetzle It was "meh." Spaetzle was overcooked and soggy. 2) Pork tenderloin from the fresh sheet with a "reduction" sauce had a very strange taste. The pork was overcooked, i.e. tough. Fail Dessert: Creme brulee cheesecake. Dry. Fancy ganache-style sauce was not fresh, in fact the dessert tasted a week old. At the prices they are asking, I hope they can do better. In previous visits, (years ago) they were A1. This is not the case anymore, at least in our experience.

Everything we ordered from the soup, Caesar salad to main course was amazing. The presentation was eye pleasing but most importantly the quality and lingering flavor of our items was outstanding. It was the best dinner we have had in the Comox Valley for a good year. Wonderful!

Very good service at this German themed restaurant. One dish was erroneously prepared in our party but it was satisfactorily resolved when brought to the staffs attention. Potato soup was delicious but a bit salty (and I usually am fine with salty!). Forester schnitzel was a large portion, so ask for a take home container! Good beer and wine options, and a nice array of cocktails and mocktails
