The food at the CFB Comox mess is actually pretty good — no complaints there. But starting Canada Day, they’re introducing a ridiculous policy: no cash or card payments, and it’s supposed to last until December. That’s six months where you can’t pay like a normal person. This affects civilian contractors on base, who don’t have access to the internal payment system. If you're not military and not set up with their specific method, you're basically out of luck.
It’s frustrating, short-sighted, and completely unnecessary. Good food doesn’t matter if people can’t buy it. Bring back normal payment options — this setup is a mess.

Prices are not inexpensive. Prices are comparable to other restaurants however food is ok, portions are small.
Great fresh foods and super pleasant staff.
