We just had lunch here for the first time. I had the Spicy Pork it was amazing I highly recommend everyone try this place if you get the chance!
Interesting stuff.
Whenever I am in town for a day trip Garlic & Pepper is always where I stop for a meal. I am used to the gas station location but this new location is pretty great!
Also the neighborhood reminds me of a mini Granville Island in Van.
Any ways the food never disappoints. The Kimbap is perfect when you're hungry but don't need much.
We bought the bibimbap and spicy pork, the spice builds but not too much. Super fresh tasting too!
Anyways they had natto, pre portioned Banchan and good selections on instant Ramen.
Love this little gem of a place! Great selection of Asian goodies you can’t get anywhere else in the valley and the cooked food is amazing. Love their beef bulgogi. The owners are also just the sweetest. Highly recommend
A small korean market, we want to eat but no staff so no restaurant but The stuffs in The market looks good and autentic
Little eatery and grocer hidden away in Tin Town Courtenay. My guess would be family run. Three or four tables to sit down at. As mentioned by others, washroom is out of order. Warm inside, doors and windows are open wide with no screens which means quite a few flies. You order at the counter, then find a spot to sit.
They bring the food to you. Young gentleman at the counter seemed like he clearly didn't want to be there and was upset, even hostile we were taking away from his phone time. We ordered then sat down. When food showed up, it looked good. No utensils. No napkins. Ordered was screwed up. Not sure how you can mix up Bibimbap with Japchae. Not a big deal as I enjoy pretty much eat any Korean food. Food was a 7 or 8 out of 10, depending on the dish. Flies were so annoying. Prices were as expected for Courtenay. Overall experience for me was a negative. Won't go back. The place has potential. If located downtown with proper serving staff, I suspect this could be a hit.
My daughter took us to the local Korean restaurant. It seems like a convenience store with a side food court. The food is authentic. However, the bathroom was closed due to repairs, so what a hassle!
I picked up beef bolgogi for lunch today. Wow, soo disappointed. 19 dollars, very little beef, no sauce, dry. Don't think it's my go to any more
Really good kimbap. Many selections of Korean goods
I love this place! The owners are so nice. Awesome selection of Korean, Japanese and other Asian groceries. I just wish they can expend their menu for their Korean cafe/restaurant! Cold noodles please ?

Friendly staff, authentic, delicious Korean food, and lots of fun snacks and drinks, as well as frozen and prepared takeout food. There is a rotating menu based on what stuff they have in the kitchen, do for my case I wanted gimbap but they didn't have any. The jjamppong, and bipimbap were awesome, and the bulgogi was probably the best I've ever had.
Really good authentic korean food. A little hard to find - tucked away from street.
I found corn tea. Cool selection of hard to find Asian foods. Ask the staff for a translation, not a lot of English on the labels. The food looks outstanding, we can't wait to eat there.
Had a wonderful meal! The kimchi was amazing! ?
