Don't order the Halibut cooked on a cedar plank. It tasted like halibut that has been in the freezer too long and then well over cooked. It was so dry we needed water to swallow it. I told the waiter. She said she would tell the cook but no one came out to talk to us. It was a disappointment as it was my birthday.

We had a reservation for 5:15 pm which is when we arrived, but it must have been a bad night as it took 40 minutes for our order to be taken! And the fact that the two tables around us arrived later than us, but were into their desserts by the time our food arrived. Add to that our table lamp went out so we felt as if we were in the corner jinxed table! My partner had the plank salmon which she said was fantastic. I had the full rack of ribs that I expected to be excellent, but they were just so so. Below a grade than Walmart BBQ ribs. We were offered a free dessert in compensation for the slow service, which gesture we appreciated and it was delicious. So all in all, expect to take a long time there. We had planned to go to a friend's house for cards after, but we were so late leaving the restaurant (8pm!)that we just went straight home.

We began our evening by sharing the steamed local clams and mussels appetizer, served with focaccia perfect for dipping into the fennel halibut broth. The broth was light, aromatic, and full of delicate flavor—a wonderful start to the meal.
For my main course, I enjoyed the pan-roasted stuffed chicken breast, which was tender and cooked to perfection, while my partner enjoyed the pan seared duck breast. The accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious.
To finish, we shared the pecan butter tart pie paired with house-made maple ice cream. This dessert was an indulgent treat—sweet, nutty, and beautifully complemented by the smooth maple ice cream.
Every dish was exceptional, and the atmosphere added to the experience: cozy and pleasant, with warm lighting and a low noise level that made conversation easy.
The servers were attentive and catered to our requests with genuine enthusiasm, making us feel truly welcomed.
I would highly recommend this establishment for an outstanding evening of great food and inviting ambiance.

Nice dinner, atmosphere. Portions were kind of small. Had the lamb dinner. Tasted good but there was probably like 4 oz of meat on the bone. Ya it was a big bone. Kind of sad that you leave hungry.

Service, felt like we were an inconvenience and didn't check on us for refreshments and no niceties barely a smile, food was bland. Then we were rushed out the door as soon as we put our spoons from our desserts down. Horrible experience, through and through. Not worth the money.

Martine’s has been around forever and overall hasn’t changed very much over the years. Had the NY Steak dinner, while it was tasty I was underwhelmed by the size and amount of fat on the steak, unfortunately it was rather chewy and a little unappealing . The veggies were also quite bland as well. I wish the cost was reflective of the meal as we paid for extra tiger prawns bit they too were rather bland and uninspiring for the premium ask.

We arrived having made a reservation on line on their website and were told we didn’t have a reservation, rudely. That we should have made sure it was confirmed. (It was and I had sent the confirmation to my friend who still had it in her phone.) She also said if we had had it confirmed we would have received a phone call that day to confirm as well. (How would we know this?) They then proceeded to seat us in the worst table in the place, right by the check in desk, after saying they would see if they could find us a table. Naturally my friend asked for a better table, politely. One was found. Turns out the person who was so rude to us at the door was now our waitress so she improved her service when she realized her tip would depend on it. Now she is back pedalling stating we are not the first people that the website has cancelled their reservations on. We suggest that perhaps they shouldn’t use this online booking tool if it is not reliable. Anyway, the rudeness that we were met with at the door set the tone for the evening so the evening was ruined. We will not be back.

Outstanding! One of the best restaurants we’ve ever visited. The calamari, Caesar salad with bread, ahi tuna, halibut, creme brûlée, and butter tart were just out of this world. And the service was impeccable. Fast, fresh, and top notch. The highlight of our trip. No notes other than I ate too much because it was that good, I couldn’t stop. 100% recommend!

The atmosphere and service is outstanding and the food is always consistent and fresh. Highly recommend visiting Martine’s if you haven’t yet, or making a reservation for a dinner there again soon!

The food was good and we appreciated the overall quality of the dishes. However, I felt a bit uncomfortable during our visit because the manager/owner kept checking on our table repeatedly. While I understand the intention may have been to provide attentive service, it felt a little intrusive at times. In addition, the food took longer than expected to arrive. With a bit more balance between attentiveness and space for guests, the experience could be much more enjoyable.
