Dined on a weekday. The menu provided clearly advertised 31% off Mon–Thurs, and we ordered by writing item numbers directly on that menu, which staff accepted.

After leaving, we realized the discount was not applied and called the restaurant. The staff member said the menu was “outdated” and blamed it on being the wrong menu, even though this was never mentioned while we were marking the menu or placing the order.

The tone on the call was rude, and we were told it was “just a dinner” and that we shouldn’t be too mindful about it. We were then told the discount would only be honoured if we returned to the restaurant within 15 minutes, despite living 45 minutes away and it already being 9:30 pm. They refused to offer a refund or credit for another day.

Very disappointing handling of a simple pricing issue. Customers rely on the menu they are given — please check your bill carefully before paying.

We had a very unpleasant experience at Banshan BBQ Coquitlam today. When we entered the restaurant, the female waitress in short hair didn’t even properly welcome us and wasn’t polite in her service at all. After we finished our meal and got our bill, she kept staring at us which made the space quite uncomfortable. After making our payment, she immediately checked the receipt and started yelling at us for not giving “enough” tip which is totally unacceptable. After telling her that the tipping amount is up to the customers, she continued treating us with a very rude and unprofessional attitude which made us hurry out the restaurant. Although she is getting paid for her job, her behaviour of pressuring customers in such a way only made us think that she is engaging with inappropriate robbery. Even when we were leaving, she was complaining in the kitchen with a very loud voice as if we did something wrong. This is definitely not how customers should be treated at any restaurant. We are certainly not going back again as far as the lady is working there.

Been getting this with Ubereats for a while now. Amazing food, love their beef noodles as well as the fried buns -> can't find this in many places in Coquitlam. Will likely one day try the food inside :)

Went inside for ayce too, the veges are a bit salty but meats very good, love the brown sugar rice cakes

Terrible experience. The service attitude was extremely rude from start to finish. When I paid, I left a 10% tip, and the owner came over and said that “10% is too low” and that I must pay at least 15%. They pressured me into adding more even though tips are supposed to be voluntary. I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected. No customer should be forced to pay a certain tip amount. I will not be returning, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

No lunch specials - hard for an individual to order anything, it's a group order or nothing

We used to go Lulu kitchen located at Hastings but now it's closed and moved to here, we would like to give a try but it's a bit disappointed in general.

Menu: from the beginning they only provided ayce menu, we thought it's the only menu in the restaurant, we strongly recommend the restaurant should provided the al-la-carte menu together for the customers together for the choices.

Price and food: Ayce menu price is a bit over priced, the classic one charged $36 but no beef or lamb, this one need to paid $10 more to get that. The food in general is quite salty. Unfortunately the ayce price not included any drinks and need to paid $5/head to top up.

Services : only 2 staffs was working on that night but there's over 10 tables there. Staffs there were jogging in the shop while working. They need to have more servers.

Conclusion: ayce no next time as it's too limited options and overpriced, not suggested at all. But still to try the al-la-carte if they can reduce the salty level of the food.

Best pork hock I've ever had. The food came fast and hot. Will definitely be back!

They have an arcade area as well so that was cool.

We luckily came at the beginning of dinner time so it wasn't super busy (which was great for us!).

The staff were super inviting as soon as we came in, and pretty quick to come to the table when called. The food came quickly and was all super yummy, highly recommend the beef, cucumber, chicken skin, and condensed milk buns. Will definitely be back!
