Bbong Korean Restaurant

I don't understand why the rating is low.
The crispiness and doneness of the sweet and sour pork were the best, and the soybean paste tasted 100% the same as what you get in Korea. I've been to other popular Chinese restaurants around here, but bbong is the best!

I don’t understand why the ratings are so low. The crispiness and cooking of the tangsuyuk were perfect, and the ganjjajang tasted exactly like the ones in Korea. I've tried other popular Chinese restaurants in the area, but Bbong Restaurant is the best!

This restaurant has been on my list to try for a long while.

Ordered the Yusanseul-bap ($18.99) assorted seafood and veggies. A very saucy dish and reminds me of sara udon. Also got the Ugeoji galbitang ($19.99) shortrib soybean soup with cabbage. It had super tender fall-off-the-bone meat and was kinda spicy. Lastly, also ordered the Jjin-mandu ($15.99) steamed dumplings with chives, green onions, and minced pork. It didn't come with a dipping sauce but you had some soy sauce at the table.

Food was pretty good. Unlike other Korean restaurants, they don't have a call bell at the table so you have to flag someone down for service.

I wanted to dine in, but no one helped me get a seat, even though I waited at the front for about 10 minutes. I ended up ordering through Uber Eats by myself to take my food to go. After I placed the order, a young female server finally approached me and asked, “Are you waiting for someone?” This was despite ignoring me multiple times while I stood at the front waiting for assistance. I was deeply disappointed by their lack of hospitality and how unwelcoming the experience felt.

Consistency matters, without it there is no success! I have visited this restaurant couple of times and noticed that their customer service isn’t that great, however, the food is decent. I can clearly remember my last visit and which is the reason why I have decided to write this review. Gentlemen’s and ladies, what is the definition of tips? You leave a generous tip depending on your satisfactory towards service or quality of the food. Tips should be well given according to those manners. Expecting such a high tip for poor service should not be normalized. I am not judging, this is literal facts. Please control your emotions.

Top of the top Jjajangmyeon I've had in decades!!
The chewy texture of the pork is very good, and it is visually stunning as it is shaped like a pretty cube with no fat and just the lean meat!!

The atmosphere is luxurious, so it would be great for a year-end gathering!
The employees also provide service with a bright smile, which makes me feel very happy~~

As expected, it is as salty and tasteless as ever, and the squid used in Jjamppong even has a very sour taste. Not all squid are like that... then you seem to be mixing it with expired ones.

Recommended dishes: Jajangmyeon

I’ve been to BBONG three times now, and the experience has been inconsistent, to say the least. Every time I visit, the taste of the jjajangmyeon seems to change. On my most recent visit, the sauce was far too watery, which was really disappointing.

The rice was overly mushy, though I understand that might come down to personal preference, so I can overlook that.

The service, however, has been consistently poor. Whether it’s a male or female server, they are unfriendly and simply take orders and bring the food. If you need something during your meal, good luck getting their attention – I’ve had to get up and ask myself. There’s no mid-meal check-in, and you have to go to the counter to pay.

After being let down on multiple occasions, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I recently had Jajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk, and it was absolutely delicious. The black bean sauce was perfectly rich and savory, coating the noodles beautifully. Every bite of the Jajangmyeon was full of flavor, with just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness. The noodles were cooked to perfection, neither too soft nor too firm, and had a wonderful texture.

As for the Tangsuyuk, it was fantastic—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sweet and sour sauce had a delightful tang that complemented the fried pork so well. I loved how it wasn’t overly sweet, just the right mix to enhance the flavor of the meat.

The portions were also very generous, making it great for sharing. Both dishes brought me a lot of comfort, and I was genuinely impressed with the quality. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving some great Korean-Chinese food!

Our server Peter gave us the best experience here in bbong lougheed. One of the best Korean food places I have ever been to. Amazing, warm service. Great music and ambience. Will recommend it to anybody wanting some hearty Korean food. They also cater to customers who are not used to the authentic taste.
