Very good food

Food was decent, good portion and good value! They were really busy though and didn't come at all to our table to check up. It was still positive experience overall despite this and we will come back!

Some of the best Hong Kong style Chinese food in Coquitlam and one of the only few around too.

Had their rice noodle with beef and always loved the authenticity of the charred taste. Definitely one of the best in Coquitlam that even rivals those of Richmond.

Keep on doing what you do and will be definitely coming back for more!

Don’t know why almost the whole menu(especially the specials posted on the walls) are all in Chinese only??? I’m Chinese Canadian who can’t read Chinese so I don’t know what the specials are and too embarrassed to ask. The food that I have tried is decent and so are the prices.

UPDATED+REVISED COMMENT**
Received response from the owner offering for a refund, my intention of writing this review is to share my experience, since the owner made the great offer, I provided my email address a month ago and finally got the refund today, the owner invited me to visit the restaurant again, I might give it another chance, it's all depending on the chef I believe, anyways, at least the owner committed to the promise which worth to have a 3 star review instead of 1 star >> Ordered 3 dishes dinner, the batter is too thick for the deep fried squid, no sauce on the sweet and sour pork chop, quite salty of the tofu and fish fillet hot pot and didn't have any fish taste, they offer free red bean soup as dessert but it should call red bean paste, overall is so so.

Handmade noodles is so good 💯. Pork's Trotter is also terrific

This restaurant will never challenge for anything more than authentic clutter of trays of dirty dishes stacked by the bar and a very ordinary seating area that makes no illusions about being decent and nice. The ladies who are both front and back are not English speaking but we are okay with the idea that they don't cater to a Caucasion crowd that much (but they should try to). We have gone there 4 times now and the first two the food justified the sparse interior. But the last visit about 9 months ago for take out dinner not so much. We live a 30 minute drive away so we expect a special feast when we go there and the prices are not cheap. They charge as if they are top drawer and they have been in the past in my opinion. Their take out this time was skimpy!!! The deep fried won ton is now some store bought cheap and frugal version and the portion we received was unsatisfying for us three. It was not the robust and plentiful won ton we received on our first visit. And for twenty bucks we get a meagre portion. Sweet and sour really not great either and again for the price why go so cheap! Lastly our fish dish was bland and boring and served in a medium takeaway plastic bowl that could have been a good meal for one, but was rationed out by the spoonful to be fair.
So what is your attraction Deer Garden? Friendly welcoming service from your ladies? No thank yous and we didn't feel like our business was appreciated. Good food in portions that justified our 60 bucks? Nope. Or maybe I should exercise your tip option....what a joke!

The food was decent, and the experience was enjoyable, but I’m unsure if it’s worth a return visit. The service also took a bit longer than anticipated.

Did takeout, fried rice tasted great just not sure if it was worth $20 but I still enjoyed it.
Place was busy and service was normal standards.

We rushed in for a late lunch almost 3pm The owner recommended us to try their Four meat balls noodle which was absolutely delicious. The thin noodle just tasted like Hong Kong’s. The curry beef brisket also just the right taste. Next time we will definitely go back try their sweet and sour pork.

Watch out for their hidden charge of 50 cents for take out container. This practice is getting ridiculous! Do I bring my own pot now? And they even put the take out in a bag! You pay.
