A cute little spot with great service. The sushi we had was not amazing and the gyoza was over done. Probably my least favourite sushi I’ve had from a restaurant in the lower mainland.

The people at this restaurant are amazing, so it hurts me to say that I won't be coming back. Service was great, really awesome servers and chefs. Food and prices were very disappointing unfortunately.
First with the good: takoyaki was delicious. Small for the price but taste was pretty good. Now for the not-so-good. Ordered a salmon aburi oshi, which was $16 (about avg price nowadays), but they were so tiny that I was shocked. Not only that, but there was no mayo or cheese on them. Instead, the torch directly seared the salmon, which ended up with black pieces that just tasted burnt. The green onions on top were all blackened and inedible. It was the most disappointing oshi I've ever had in my life. Tempura was ok but batter was a little too thick to enjoy.
Finally, I found out after I got home that they overcharged us --- restaurants are only supposed to charge GST on meals (we didn't order any drinks) but they also charged PST on the whole meal for unknown reasons.

This was an unplanned trip. The place I was planning to go to was closed on Mondays. I tried this place as it was close by, and i had not yet tried it. I had the volcano roll and some gyoza with barley tea. I enjoyed it all.

Fat Tuna in Coquitlam is a hidden gem! I grabbed takeout and even though my order was only delayed by a few minutes, they gave me two free sodas just for waiting—how sweet is that? 💕 The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and packed with care. Their aburi rolls are a must-try, full of flavor and mouthwatering good. Super generous portions too! Friendly staff, great prices, and a low-key vibe that makes it feel like your own little secret spot. Definitely coming back! 🍣🥤✨

Came in for a rushed dinner. Service from waiter and chef were fantastic. Ordered the salmon burger, udon noodles and salmon roll. All were fantastic! Kid friendly!
