Gooi-Ga (구이가) Korean BBQ

I think a lot of other reviewers have echoed that meat quality is great and I can confirm it is true. I visited with a party of 4 people and we ordered the Gooi-ga Special. We were prepared to order more but it was enough for us.
The BBQ set came with a variety of meat and seafood and the tofu soup was delicious. They do not have a lot of seating so you are at the mercy of luck if you don't reserve a seat or get on the waitlist. I would definitely come back here with friends again! The only reason for the 4 star is the lack of seating and unpredictability of getting in or waiting.

The meat quality here is excellent. Tried a dinner set and it had generous portions and a bit of everything for you to try. Would recommend the raw marinated crab which had sweet, tender, naturally creamy meat. The side dishes were quite small though and we got them refilled once but it’s like one bite of each per person. The taste of the seafood pancake, soup, salads, and marinated and non-marinated meats was all good and solid. It’s an interactive dinner because you get to grill your own meats.

Overall good experience and the food is great.
They do have ring bell like restaurants in Korea so it's easy to call a waiter/waitress over for anything you need.
They don't grill for you just a headsup, and the 꼬막비빔밥 (Spicy Cockle Bibimbap) is code in case it's your first time.

I recently visited this Korean BBQ restaurant.The quality of the meat was outstanding, everything was incredibly fresh and well-marinated. They had a wide selection, including beef, pork, chicken, and even seafood. As the meat sizzled on the grill, the aroma was irresistible, and every bite was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The side dishes were equally impressive, with unlimited refills of classic Korean banchan like kimchi, pickled veggies, and potato salad.

The service was exceptional! The staff were so friendly and attentive, greeting us warmly as we arrived. They explained how to use the grill, adjusted the heat when needed.This Korean BBQ spot is definitely worth visiting!

Came to try the bbq here because of the reviews. Sadly there were no combos without seafood, NONE. There were 7 different combos available but they all had seafood. When asked if the restaurant can just substitute the seafood with any other protein the response was that the combos are already at a discounted price, so we can just order the combo without the seafood but everything else will remain the same, the only thing they might consider giving is extra rice -which is already included in the combo so is not helpful nor needed. The marinated beef short ribs and marinated pork jowl were good -same taste as other Korean bbq restaurants. Due to our seafood intolerance, we will not be coming here nor recommending this place to family and friends. Galbi restaurant is so much better. Very disappointed.

Honestly blown away by their service. First Korean restaurant in a long time to have staff come and ask if everything is okay. Had 2 soft tofu soups for a quick lunch, food was great. For the side dishes, odang was tasty, but kimchi was tad bit underwhelming, but not a deal breaker.

My family visited here several times and this is one of our favourite places. The food is delicious. Lunch package is abundant and affordable. So good!

Food was amazing, one of the best korean bbq that i’ve had in Metro Vancouver!

Despite many of the comments talking about bad services at times, with our first experience one of the servers, Jun, was one of the best people to be served by! Promptly came when needed, made substitutions for us and tried his best to accommodate in any way he could. Would definitely go back just to see him and it made my experience great.

I had dinner on Sunday night, and the male server was very kind and nice, but the older woman made me feel really bad. First of all, I sat at the table 1-2 minutes later than my group and didn't know about the time limit (I wonder if they even told me about it), but while I was drinking, they came 5 minutes before and told me I had to leave? There was leftover food and not much alcohol left, so I tried to drink it quickly, but they took all the food, so I had the last drink left.

Due to the nature of the restaurant serving grilled meat and alcohol, I wish the time information had been a little quicker...

And no matter how limited the restrictions, it's rude to take away dishes with food left on them without even asking if you can clean them up. On that day, I thought I might be more offended by the alcohol, so I just held back, but a few days later, I'm writing this, and I'm still thinking about it. This really makes me angry haha... I clearly remember the face and expression, I was so angry..!
He had a rotten expression on his face the whole time he was working. If you don't want to work, I hope you don't. It's really annoying. Why do you take tips when you take orders through a tablet?

Looking at the review, it seemed a bit unfriendly. What is it? Does the person change every day of the week? The serving men and women were all very friendly... Everyone at the table was friendly. The meat was delicious and the portion size was better than I expected.
