Hakone Sushi

A very nice, quiet and quaint little sushi restaurant run by a small few number of people. Has the best unagi roll and donburi I've ever had and for a pretty reasonable price!

Quiet restaurant with plenty of seating. Within walking distance from Coquitlam Centre, the Coquitlam Aquatic Centre and LaFarge, it's a great spot to regroup with fresh sushi.

I tried the Salmon & Spicy Scallop Roll ($9.95), Avocado Roll ($3.25) and a Miso Soup ($1.50). Sushi rolls were prepared fresh, and the flavour was satisfying.

Very reasonable prices. Surprisingly beautiful tableware.

Perfect local cheap and cheerful spot. Next time, I'll try the Korean Chirashi Don.

Inari (bean curd) nigiri sushi: good inari sushi, I liked it.
Chopped scallop with masago nigiri sushi: first time trying this and it’s quite delicious.

Miso soup: the server was very kind and offered me a second bowl of miso soup. It was decent.

Chicken teriyaki donburi: awesome dish! The portion was very generous and it tastes pretty good. Would recommend.

This was the worst sushi I have ever had. One of the rolls actually made me instantly sick. They were also very stingy on the serving sizes and barely got any wasabi. I will never order here again. You get what you pay for!

Rolls were mostly rice. They included rice *in* the inside and a ton of rice on the outside. Very little fish, very little avocado (many peices did not have avocado). Poorly wrapped and mushy. I wouldn't order again.
