Hons is an authentic casual Chinese restaurant. They make everything to order and have an extensive menu. When we go, our fav 3 dishes are the BBQ fried rice, tofu with rock salt as well as the black pepper chicken with broccoli. When ordering we usually ask them to withhold the black pepper sauce on the chicken with broccoli as sometimes we find that it’s too much sauce.

We have previously had other dishes such as wontons, sweet and sour pork, eggplant, hot and sour soup, mixed veggies, Shanghai noodles etc and have enjoyed those as well. There really isn’t anything we didn’t like.

Service is typical Chinese restaurant style so don’t be shy to flag the servers down as they can get busy.

I had the 3 BBQ meat platter. Portion was not bad for 18$. But the sui Mai I ordered was ridiculous. 8.50$ for four pieces of frozen bought dumpling. Very small and tasteless. Chili oil has zero taste and zero spice.

The food at this place is consistently great, and we frequently opt for takeout or delivery. However, the service could use some improvement when we dine in.

We had lunch at Hon’s wonton house in Coquitlam on the weekends. We were super disappointed on the quality of the foods that we had ordered. Half of BBQ duck costs us $24 plus tax, all we got was bone and skin of the bbq duck, no duck meat on the plate, the $15 beef black bean sauce, the beef were rubbery chewy, and the seafood hotpot was full of vermicelli underneath the thin seafood layer on top. What a RIPOFF , below 1 ⭐️ for Hon’s Wonton House in Coquitlam. Dinners do yourself a favour GO SOMEWHERE ElSE INTEAD! AVOID HON’S WONTON HOUSE ???????????????

We would rate this restaurant 0 star if we could, The portions are big, but the smell of the food is horrendous so you will not even get to eat the food. It’s sticky and the vegetables are discoloured (the broccoli is grey and yellow…)
We ended up letting them know how bad everything was and it was definitely a health hazard to consume and still had to pay full price which is very disappointing.

Very authentic, delicious, well-priced food. Been my preferred Chinese restaurant in the tri-cities for years. The Singapore noodles were yummmm ?

The food used to be so good. Today I had to add a ridiculous amount of salt to everything, the chow mein was SO thick and not edible with no taste..
The chicken corn soup had no flavour either, after adding salt pepper and soy sauce it was a bit more doable. Too overpriced for the quality they’re serving.

I went to Hon’s Wun-Tun House yesterday for the first time in about a year or two. I was very disappointed and surprised when I had realized the flavour of the food had gone downhill. I used to love Hons cause they used to have Good portions and amazing flavour for a good price however, things have turned for the worse recently and now even the cheaper TNT meals you can get at the mall tastes better than the food on this day.

The wonton soup was super salty and tasted very fishy which i’ve never experienced in a wonton soup before (i love wonton soup so that was surprising that it tasted so wierd). I also ordered the beef and brocoli crispy Chow Mein, which is no longer on their menu but the lady said they could make it which is why I gave them a high rating for the service. The chow mein (the whole thing including the beef) tasted a bit wrong like if it shouldn’t be eaten. Not sure how to describe the flavour but it just tasted off and wrong to eat. It was not the flavour I had known and loved hons for, instead it tasted wierd. I am incredibly disappointed that one of my previous favourite chinese food spots no longer have good flavour and have gone downhill. We did order other things as well and honestly the only thing i liked from this whole meal is the rice.

I will be on the search for better chinese food restaurants because i’m so sad and disappointed that this one won’t hold up to a good standard anymore. The service was really good however and they were very quick, efficient and kind so good job on the service. It was the food that was a big turn off. I hope they are able to bring back their old good flavour they used to have in their food and improve on the quality and flavour.

A regular Cantonese restaurant with a big menu and freshly cooked food, free bottomless tea, decent prices and big servings. I have been coming here a few times per year for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I am not crazy about jiaozi/potstickers in general so can't comment on their signature dish, but have enjoyed many menu items from congee and soup to noodle, veg and meat dishes. My only issue is that I cannot come here more often, as I live hours away. Most recent order was sweet and sour cod, with corn and chicken soup. I could hardly believe how much cod we got, the batter was nice and thin and the fish was thick-such a great value, I am sure if I had bought that cod at the market, it would have cost almost as much as the cooked dish (ie big portions and good price.) Service is like a typical HK diner, (not smiling and charming like Western style but prompt and efficient.) I hope this place outlasts me.
