Updating my previous review after the restaurant followed up.

I originally ordered a spaghetti carbonara but received a spaghetti bolognese instead. The staff were polite at the time, but the initial solution didn’t fully address the inconvenience, which led to my first review.

The following day, the restaurant reached out, refunded the incorrect item, and also offered additional compensation (two pasta dishes and snacks). I appreciate them taking the time to follow up and make things right.

Mistakes can happen with any order, but what matters is how they’re handled. In this case, the restaurant resolved the situation fairly, so I’m happy to update my review.

Had said we could first choose where we’d like to sit. I chose a table we sat at before with friends and was denied. Something about it being for a larger group, yet there was only one other table seated. Not a big deal, bit of an initial turn off as we are there for the experience. We ordered the lunch set and I bit into one of the 3 chicken bites and it was completely rubberized and 100% fat. I put it aside and told the waitress and she said she’ll let the kitchen know. Assuming it would be replaced, it was not when I asked– only that the kitchen apologizes. Well, show it by replacing it or compensating it. Neither was offered so the tip reflected the experience. 0 tip. Won’t be returning.

I walked into Jimco at 5:40 PM and was told they were fully booked for 5:30, despite at least four empty tables clearly visible. I was alone and the server refused to seat me, offering no reasonable explanation or alternative.

I ended up having to leave in heavy rain because of this. Extremely disappointing service and an unwelcoming attitude. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Cream based menus are all mediocre. Spicy or tomato ones are worth a try.

I ordered two Penne Parma Rose dishes yesterday. While the taste was fine, the portion and ingredient balance were very disappointing. Each plate contained only about 4-5 very small pieces of chicken, 2-3 mushroom pieces, and exactly two sun-dried tomato pieces. I could barely notice any olives.

This dish is listed as a Chicken Pasta, yet the amount of chicken was minimal-especially surprising given that it is priced higher than most of the meat pasta options. The portion felt closer to a vegetable pasta, but even then, it lacked sufficient vegetables.

This was my first time ordering from Jimoco, and unfortunately, based on this experience, I don’t think I will be ordering again.

Went in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the food, tasted fresh and was great lunch portions. The linguine soul had a slight kick to it with a good amount of seafood added and a nice rich tomato base, was also bigger than expected. The chicken parmigiana was your classic dish, but much better priced compared to your usual Italian restaurants for the same thing pretty much (we chose salad instead of pasta for that dish). Overall a nice place to go for lunch if you want something homey and filling!

Delicious food and excellent service! Unlimited garlic bread and pickles! Currently they have a promo where your receipt will give you 10% or 25% discount on your next visit with in 30days. We been back multiple times and tried multiple menu items and everything was tasty! Highly recommend their seafood rossito & lasagna !

One of the best Italian fusion restaurant in the Lower Mainland. Austin Heights best kept secret. Try the lasagna!

Had mother's day lunch with my daughter at the Golden Boot, the food was terrible! I had wanted to take her somewhere special it appeared to be a place with more of that old Italian warmth and vibe. I wish I had taken her to Jimoco! I eat there about once a month (I am on pension or I'd go more often). I have the lasagna, the sauce reminds me of my childhood in Little Italy. It is thick, rich and spiced just right. Like other older cafes it lacks the ambiance for special dinners out, unless looking at a love one across the table means it's not so important. The prices are more than reasonable, there are specials of 10% - 25% discounts, the portion size means I take another meal home, the people are warm and friendly, the service is great and there is a special lunch menu that makes it possible for even the most money strapped senior to eat out sometimes.
