We usually go to the one in Metrotown and get lot of cakes and pastries. Came to Coquitlam for the first time. And the service is absolutely pathetic. The girl handling cash said they were out of Chicken Burger that comes with fries. They have the chicken panini and the cost is almost the same as the chicken burger. I politely asked them if they can provide the fries with the panini since they didn’t have the burger. I was blatantly told that they cannot do that and charge $5 extra in case I want to add the fries. Tried asking politely again and the girl was so rude and blatant. Will never come here and will recommend others not to come. Zero star for service. It’s not about the fries. Just the way we were told that we had no option. Disappointed.

The place is cozy and has a lot of people. The tables have enough space between them, so it doesn’t feel too crowded. The desserts are also very good and delicious.

I visited Laforte Cafe for the first time with my friend. The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was cozy and convenient for a big group. I will definitely come again.

I'm a frequent flyer at La Foret and usually love it, BUT this cannot go undocumented. I was waiting for a coffee to-go admiring the line cooks do quick work with the food when I noticed MANY health code violations. Including but not limited to: cross contamination of raw ground beef and chicken with other ingredients.
One example: The cook I observed was not being careful with the last item he touched and what pathogens it may bring to the next food item or kitchen utensils he touched. I saw the same dish cloth go back and forth between wiping jam containers and the burger press. He touched the raw beef patties and chicken and also transferred that into ziplocks of onions, cheese, etc.
No wonder the bathroom toilets were slathered in diarrhea...
I'm very sad to leave this review. I hope this gets resolved so I can return soon since I love this place.
Very noisy and crowded… they need to find a solution to the noise. Otherwise I would have given a 5 star.
The staff is lovely I’m sure, they just don’t smile. I have been there over 10 times. They seem so stressed all the time … they do work hard.

They have the sweetest creamiest iced matcha latte you'll ever have. Even if you don't like matcha. Also the food and pastries are good

The WiFi is horrendous, don't go if you need to work/study with anything more than Google. The cafe is just ok as a social spot, its noisy and there were a fair number of little flies everywhere which was pretty annoying. I found one dead in my drink (which they happily remade) and felt rushed to finish my food because I was worried about flies getting stuck in the cream.
