We visited this place before and it was fine. The food was decent, portions were large, and prices fair. But when we returned a couple of days ago, the experience was completely different. The restaurant was empty except for us, yet we had to repeatedly go to the back just to ask for tea refills and water. Service was essentially nonexistent.

When it came time to pay, I asked several times to see the bill, but the server kept holding onto it and only asked how we wanted to pay. After I insisted again, she took the bill away, then returned with the payment machine and handed it to my mother. When my mother asked the total, the server mumbled, and my mom tapped to pay—only to realize afterward that the server had already entered the amount with a 15% tip included.

When questioned, the server pretended not to understand. Adding a tip without consent, especially when there was no service, is unacceptable. A restaurant should be upfront and ethical, not deceptive. There are far better places to dine that respect their customers.

You can always count on lucky gate, the hot items are hot the cold dishes are cold , not greasy or oily, the service is always good , I have never had a bad experience here , give it a try

Food took 45 mins to arrive to my table and the rasturant aswell as the kitchen was unsanitary and dirty

the food here is just ok. average quality and taste. they have an intensive menu so there is plenty of selection for everyone’s taste. the service is very good though.

We ordered beef noodle soup*2 and xiaolongbao *1, we like xiaolongbao! it’s big and juicy, just slightly over steamed. And beef soup and noodle is way too salty to eat, both me and my husband only ate beef and veggies, we left almost a whole bowl of soup and noodle on the table.

The restaurant missed our order, and we waited for over 30 min. Told us the order will be ready soon but nothing came.
They didn't even apologize. Very disappointed and will not visit again

Noodle dishes are generous. Whether it's fried or in soup, it's got good portions, plus the noodle itself is dense, makes you full for sure
Deep fried dishes though, seems like they don't refresh their oil too often. So maybe a bit careful with their appetizers.

Reasonably price, one of my favorite restaurant

Yikes... Horrible! Everything was overcooked. The wonton wrappers were mushy, the pork was all very small pieces that were oddly chewy, the chow mein noodles lacked texture and flavour. I'm not usually one to complain, but this was awful! We didn't stay long, didn't eat much, left the plates full, and the lady still had us pay full price. Terrible experience. We will never be back.

Food was okay, but the noodles were too soggy. We had a large serving, and more than half of it was taken home. The service could use some improvement.

Every one of very many meals at Lucky Gate with friends has been completely terrific!
Easily a favorite restaurant and always looking forward to being in the vicinity to partake of another meal there!
